FO1 Are there time limits for side-quests (*not* main)?

Saudade

First time out of the vault
As the title says, if I start a quest and leave the town/area where its events (if there is any) are
supposed to happen, can I safely think that I'm fine until I come back and I won't fail it in any way?
Not thinking about finding the water chip or destroying the super mutants; specifically, if
I start Butch's Find the Missing Caravans, can I take all the time I want to advance in the quest
while enjoying my 15% discount with Beth?

There are just a few time-dependent quests, but none in the Hub that I can recall. Also I'm pretty sure you don't lose the discount once you've finished that quest.

Do you suppose quests that require you to be ready when you undertake them- and have consequences if you aren't ready when you attempt them -would count towards this specific query? Because if so, I imagine that the Shady Sands unmarked Side Quest to help them with their crop rotations would receive special mention. To my recollection, if you don't meet the requirements to offer council that will help them at the time of initiating the conversation, then you'll never be able to offer them help even if you obtain the required stats to pass the skill checks later on.

It was the other way around, I wanted to start the quest because I wanted the discount to make
some money selling my stuff, but I didn't actually care about completing the quest for the time being.

Mmh no, not really. At this particular moment, I'm just trying to make some money (around 10k)
while leveling as little as possible to get a couple implants from the BoS.
