Frank's weapon

[font size=1" color="#FF0000]LAST EDITED ON May-23-02 AT 07:13AM (GMT)[p]If ya want to get Franks endboss gun and endboss knife (sword) try this.

After you've killed Frank Horrigan push the enclave squad (who should have joined you in the fight) over Franks dead body. Kill them. Now search their dead bodies. If you should see the arrow for switching to the next body press on it. If you got lucky you'll be able to pick from Franks body.

Sometimes you'll just be able to pick items from some VERY small body parts of Frank Horrigan. In that case reload.

what arrow?

Usually when bodies are "stacked" on top of one another, under the pic of the body in the "looting screen" there is two arrows pointing to the left and right. Click them to move to the next body.

Two things:

1) i tried this, but wasnt clear about what you meant by 'push them over his body'? I killed them, but cos i use a Bozar they usually die on the spot, so its hard to control where they move!

2) I havent seen the Endboss weapons in any weapon chart..what are the damage ratings and what ammo does the gun take?

RE: Frank's weapon

It's maximum damage is around 50. YOu can also get it by using a itemeditor. It looks like the deathclaw claw (if you have gotten that).

3 things you can do to make it easier:

1. Set the violence level to minimum. I wasn't able to make this work until I did.

2. You can find out which hex Horrigan's corpse occupies by moving away and then clicking it. Your character will move to and face that hex (i.e. the one in front of your feet, not the one you're standing on).

3. The troopers cannot be pushed, but if you enter combat mode they'll come running if they're close enough. Use this to lure them to the right hex.

I added them to the weapons table in the guide. Thanks, FH. I've read about this before, but I must admit I thought it was a hoax (phrases like "it doesn't always work" is usually a sure warning sign...).

Thanks Per, was hoping someone would enlighten me. Though i hold you responsible for the 2 hours it took me to do this right!

Thanks

Besides you can also kill your NPCs if you have them with you. However that is pointless.

There might also be a way to get the special boxer weapon (club). However I haven't been able to find out.

I think only the boxers inside the ring have those. I discovered that you can use this trick to get a Golden Gecko Skin from fire geckos if you have the skinning perk, but at the price of an NPC I don't think I'd do this very often. Only if I really needed the money.

To bad that you didn't get a fire gecko breath....well hehe there are those zeros over at Modoc which would be less worth then a gecko pelt.

Well back to real stuff it....

You might get a fire gecko breath for using the trick on Melchiors pets?

And there might be a way to attack the one who presents the match in the boxing ring? Gotta try.....

RE: Frank's weapon

Actually they use the system files for the flame thrower for the fire geckos. They can run out of fuel. It's kinda funny if you think about it. :P Esp. if you heard the "clunk" sound coming from the fire geckos when they run out of "breath". :D

RE: Frank's weapon

[font size=1" color="#FF0000]LAST EDITED ON Jun-07-02 AT 08:06AM (GMT)[p]I've figured a bit how you could get the special boxer weapon....this is what I've found out.

During a match win by a knockout. The game should turn off combat mode automaticly. Hit a all the time.

If you've done right you should be in combat mode when the audience talker is about to tell that you've won.

Now you have to try to kick the speaker to the same place were the boxer lies. Now the boxer has to be dead too, but if you just hit him the speaker will tell that you are the winner after you've used all your aps. There is no chance to hit a when this happens. So you to hit the boxer once and then the speaker. When you hit the speaker so that he falls on the ground combat ends. But now you are able to hit a.

Now the problem. The speaker can't be killed but be knocked unconsious but then combat ends and you wont be able to hit a.

Maybe you find out how to do?

RE: Frank's weapon

I killed one of the soldiers and he fell on Horrigans body.... Then I clicked to loot, and there was an arrow there to go to the next body, so I went to it, but nothing was on the corpse. What gives? Other people have gotten this to work right?

RE: Frank's weapon

As I think it says somewhere in the topic I only got it to work by setting violence to none/minimum. But yes, it is doable.

Frank, I think you said in some topic one could get Robo Rocket Launchers and melee weapons from robots doing this trick. I tried it in the SAD and only got normal Miniguns. If you got anything else, where and how did you do it?

Also there's another thing I might as well ask here. In Igor Lowicki's walkthrough he says the Here and Now perk can be used to level up NPCs: enter the char screen, choose Here and Now to level up, then press cancel. You lose the level, but if any NPC levelled up when you did, they don't revert to their previous level. (He says.) Since you pressed cancel you still have a perk to choose, so repeat until all NPCs get to their max level. Now he also says this should work with the patch, but I tried it, and it did not. Anyone else tried this, with or without the patch? I've never seen it mentioned anywhere but in his guide.

RE: Frank's weapon

Well, I did this when I used the turbo plasma rifle on any robot (so that they get the burning death animation). Worked fine every time though not in FO1 (maybe the robot melee weapons weren't created then?).

This might not be so much help, but I think that he posted a trick on http://www.gamewinners.com so that you could as many skill points as you desire (similar to the NPC trick and didn't work either).

It was something like this:

Everytime when you are able to choose a perk after you level

When you meet me you know that your end is near!

It still didn't work for me. Report back to me with ALL the details once you get it to work again. :)

I also looked at the pariah dog script, and found there's a bug which could explain the stat raise, providing that the script is not junked after you kill the dog, leave and return (the bug would require that you kill it twice, with a certain local variable not resetting in between). But it seems that this is not the case. (This is the same with Willy the trader; his script is supposed to remember if you killed him, so that it can change his name. But since the game apparently starts up his script anew every time you meet him, this doesn't happen.) So, in short, I still have no clue why the pariah bug happens, and it has still never happened to me.

This one didn't stick on the board, it seems.

Hmmm...I've to check that. There could also be some errors in my memory :7

Yeah I think I know now why it dosen't work. If you look into the patch000.dat file you'll find both the piriah script and map file. It seems that this bug has been edited in the 1.2 version but still works in 1.1 version though.

Heh damn my internet broke down before I could finish this message! (not really :D)

Anyway it was this I wanted to post

Hint: Easy skill points and levels:
Gain a level and wait for the screen with the perks to appear. Highlight the perk and click "Done" on the perk screen. However, click "Cancel" on the main screen. Click back to the character screen and the perk screen will appear again. Repeat these step to gain unlimited levels and 99 skill points.

Had nothing to do with Igor though but still good for a laugh.

I don't like that theory, because that would mean there's at least one difference between the US and UK patches, and I don't know of any so far. Disturbs my sense of symmetry. :)

Heh, that was pretty dumb. The strange thing about Lowicki's trick is that he said that he used it regularly, which would be a very odd thing to say if it doesn't work. Then again he'd ripped bits and pieces from Steve Metzler's guide so I guess he can't be trusted.

Another "I can't get this to work" thing, since this seems to be the perfect thread for it: Someone said they could give SMG:s (like the H&K G11E) to Skynet. I checked and the robobrain really does have SMG animation frames; problem is, when I give any SMG or big pistol to him he refuses to equip them (and it's not because I forgot to give him the ammo). So if anyone who remembers doing this could do it again and report which weapon it worked with, it would help.
