Which NPC's are able to use Gauss Rifles?
Also, what weapons is Myron capable of using? He doesn't seem to know himself.

NPc's

ok, cassidy is your top choice for using gause riifles, since his skill is small guns

and i guess vic can handle a gausse rifel as well, but its better to giv ehim dinimite set to 20 seconds instead

the robot can use the rifel as well ( i think )

everyone else uses diffrent stuff

myron uses dope as his main attack, he will get so hi that his breath will make eveyone around him get high too ( just joking, myron can use like knives i think) don't use myron, after you get the money that he know about, have him face the gave that u dug it out off, and fill his back with bullets out of a bozar and or vindicator!

mmmmmmm....isn`t myron the geek in the new reno stables that created jet?
i don`t remember him digging the graveyard south of reno, i used someone else that i found hiding in a cellar. are you a litle confused or is it just something that i haven`t tried?

SPOILER

ok, if you talk to myron, he will tell you that the mordinos stashed some cash in golgothia, so he will take you there ( or you have to go there) and you can dig it up

its like 10g's i think

after that he is useless, so kill him, or fill him up with jet

i never tried that, i always went there to collect the money with another npc that i don`t remember the name, didn`t knew you could do that with myron, gonna try another time, thanxs

RE: SPOILER

I think he only tells you if you threaten to leave him, though.

RE: SPOILER

Guys Myron isn't totally useless, if you get him to make just a normal stimpack, then after you can get him to make superstimpacks with just a normal stim, one of those fruit things, and a nuka cola. You don't need to have him with you 24-7 just leave him in reno until you have lotsa fruit and nuka cola, then get him to make you a ton of superstims!

RE: SPOILER

Personally, I only use superstims for assassinations, and theres only a few of those to be done in the entire game, so I easily get enough of those to last me. And as for normal stimpacks, has anyone ever run out of those?

the name of the npc is loyd

RE: SPOILER

Yeah, you do have to threaten to leave Myron before he'll fess up on the hidden money. As for his weapons, I've never gotten him to use the gauss pistol. About the best I got him to do was the pulse pistol. I've never encountered the #@$@!! alien blaster in FO2, but I've heard he can use that. Vic and Cassidy can also use gauss rifles, and it makes a pretty good tag team.

You're confusing Myron's "Mordino stash" with Pretty Boy Floyd's $1000 quest from Salvatore.

i thought it was the same money, but you could get it in two different ways.
thanks

RE: Alien Blaster

[font size=1" color="#FF0000]LAST EDITED ON Oct-04-00 AT 09:40AM (GMT)[p]You can only get this special encounter("A trader and his guards" I think) 4 squares N of Modoc. Just walk around the square for a while and when you encounter the trader, walk directly up to him and attempt to steal from him--he'll offer to sell you junk sometimes, and for obscene prices(I paid like $3500 for a spiked knuckles the first time I met him). Keep trying until he's got the Alien Blaster and steal them(he has always had 5 of them in my games) from him. The Alien Blaster isn't that cool anyway, too short a range(10!).
Every NPC I tried could use it, though.

I tried this. In fact, I almost ran out of cells for my car trying this. I finally got fed up and quit trying. Then again, I've finished the game three times and had a grand total of 2 special encounters: The bridgekeeper and the whale. One of my characters even had a 10 luck.

I guess I'm just having a bit of nostalgia from FO1. I loved the weapon in that game. I really love the death criticals when the target lights up like the old cartoons when someone sticks their finger in an electrical outlet.

RE: NPc's

I had something weird happen with my NPCs, specifically Marcus. I was cleaning out the Military Base, and I noticed that while on the 2nd floor, the game somehow thought Marcus was a dead mutant or something. He was standing there normally, but when I clicked on him I got the little hand and got taken into his inventory, instead of getting to talk to him. He also didn't move around the floor with me. He did pop up with me when I moved to the 3rd floor, but he wouldn't move beyond the elevator. Anybody else ever experience that?
(This is the patched version, btw)

RE: Alien Blaster

The important thing is that the Alien Blaster is great against unarmored enemies, like Deathclaws or Super Mutants, but it sucks against Enclave troops, so it was more usefull in FO1.

RE: NPc's

i had something like that
sum1 suggested go to cats paw and give him sex then he'll come.
but i just restarted..

RE: NPc's

I had another bug in the military base. I entered, (not for the first time) and I turned out to be on the second floor right away. And I hadn't fixed the elevator yet so I couldn't get back up anymore. (also the patched version)

There's your problem -- you're driving. Park your car in Modoc or Ghost farm and WALK there. You get more encounters walking, presumably because you're moving much more slowly. And you don't waste fuel.

Maybe your problem was the car. Personally, my strategy has been to level up as much as possible before beginning my quest, i.e., I spend 3 or 4 years on random encounters before even starting the Klamath quests, usually at that point I'm about level 40, have explored the entire map, and have gotten most of the random encounters.
I've found that I have lots more fun doing the quests because I've so many more options.

I'll have to try that. I noticed I always got more encounters walking, though. I guess that's why I managed to come across every special encounter in FO1.

See, when I tried this, I kept getting killer encounters. When you're only level 2 or 3, even a highwayman or scorpion encounter can kill you. I kept getting whacked by stuff like that when I tried wandering at low levels. I was able to run away from some them, but I often ended up getting pumped full of lead or bolts before I could leave the screen. I won't even get into the Enclave patrol encounters that kept getting me toasted before I could even take a step. :)
