FO3 research by Bethesda?

Shard McKrick

First time out of the vault
I'm in some serious need for cash for my upcoming yearlong trip to China, so I decided to sell my original FO and FO2 copies on eBay. The auctions just closed today, selling for a decent $43 or so a piece, but what really surprised me was who the paypal payments were from.

Drum roll please...

Gavin Carter. For those who don't know (I didn't, but I saw the @bethsoft.com in the email and got suspicious), he's a producer at Bethesda, yeah, no shit.

So apparently the original games are getting at least some respect, and maybe some research by some of the honchos at BS. I don't know about anyone else, but this is a good sign if you ask me.

Errr.....aren't they a bit late in purchasing these?
Though I suppose it could just as well be for the newer team members or QA.

*bows*

Figured I better start playing this game soon, huh? ;)

Kidding. These are just for me, for nostalgia's sake. The old jewel cases I had just didn't cut it. I've been on a nostalgia kick lately. I've been buying up a bunch of old original boxed copies of stuff - old Wing Commanders, Ultimas, Underworlds, Gold Box stuff. Looking to get my hands on the old Lucasarts adventures, Wizardrys, maybe even some old console stuff. I used to have all this great stuff stored in boxes that I would take with me every single time I moved. Then in college, I needed the cash so I sold off my entire game collection :( Knew I would regret it one day.

BTW, if anyone has Ultima 1 or 2 and wants to sell, let me know. They're impossible to find!

Enjoy your China trip Shard!

Well ask Rosh, if he doesn't eat your heart during a satanic ritual involving kittens and burned Bethesda effigies he might know where you can get the games, he's an expert on everything Ultima. His account here is still banned though. I know someone that works with Lord British, but that's too much of a long shot...

I don't have my old boxes anymore, too many house moves and not enough space, although I still keep a few manuals and some old games (most post 1997 games, the others are long gone) and I only have a dvd cased box with both Fallout RPGs. I don't even have most of the games I bought since 2000, I exchanged them for vouchers to buy new games, my household spends 500 to 600 euros a year in games, at least in the last years, so since I don't have the time to play them anyway I just got the vouchers to get better deals for my kids purchases.

there was a guy on ebay who sold Fallout and Fallout 2 but both game boxes were in such a poor state! the boxes were ripped at the corners. was that you who sold them?

I would never payed 40+ USD for a fallout in that state!
