For all our readers from Portugal and Portuguese-speaking countries: a great Brazilian site you definitely shouldn't miss has been running for some time. Along with having some impressively informative pages on Fallout 3, these guys have gone through the insane effort of translating Fallout 1 and 2 into Brazilian Portuguese (they're almost done). Check 'em out!

Insane Work indeed. Fallout 2's dialogues are as big as a digital Holy Bible, from what I've heard. I gave some help translating Renesco and Billy, wanted to help more but had no time... it's going to be a blast to play Fallout 2 with a well-done translation, I tell you guys.

And we Brazilian Fallout Gamers are going to CONQUER THE WORLD, FEAR OUR UNITED POWER, MWhahahahahahah, Bwhahahaha, Kneel before us and that kind of stuff, you know the Drill! :lol: :lol:

That said, I don't like their site design at all. Too cluttered, too blue, too colourful.

I knew this site, but didn't see so many brasileiros here so I never cared to tell. And the translation, I didn't think the guys would endure, to be sincere. :clap:

(sorry about that, guys, but it was going way too off-topic, and this is the news forum, we try to keep the focus on the news even in comments)
 
What's actually so fabulous on translating Fallouts to language that's used by 100+ million people? Exempli gratia, we have a Czech version of FO1/2 available since cca 2000 (around 11 million heads + small bunch of Slovaks :D). I thought Brasil isn't so less-developed country...!? :P

Anyway, nice to see that seeds of Fallout may take a root that far. It's a cockroach of the game industry. :)

But in there aren't that many brasilians Fallout fan's, in the brasilian Fallout Forum have about 30 users that visit regurlary, and yet there arent that many people working in the translation.
 
Yes, Fallout wasn't so noticed in it's development or publishment here, neither received various coments on the magazines. The game has never been properly respected in Brazil. Acctualy the game beggin to be divuged when a cd-magazine started to sell it for a lower price.

But today the brazilian fallout comunity is consolidated, after 5 or 6 years of Vault BR (former Fallout Resourcers). And we're very proud of it.

It's important to say that we don't know what's going to happen with our community when Fo3 appears on the market since it's not a so big community today. Maybe other forums will be born, but for sure VBR will grow up considerably. So expet for more brasileiros here :twisted:
 
Thank you for mentioning us in your site.

The translations are projects that appeared in the VaultBR community.
The translation of f2 is under revision. As soon as we've finished it, we will begin the translation of f1, which had already been started by another team, but is currently in the backburner. But are definitely going to complete it as well.

In addition, there is already a translation for some F. Bibles. There are people translating manuals and walks of the game into Portuguese. We will let you know of any new developments.

I recently received a couple of offers to translate my guide into Brazilian. Would you happen to know about any such thing? Several people have either started on or considered doing that before, but apparently none of them ever finished it.

Per, I remember someone saying there that was translanting your walk but I guess it's stopped since there's no news about it.

There are some walks translated to portuguese, but not yours unfortunately.

It's me. o/ I've sended you an e-mail talking about it, but you didn't ansewered me. Like i writed in the e-mail: Me and some friends are trying (really hard ._.) to translate tour guide. I've sended the e-mail 'cause you have your copyrights, right? Hehe. It's a bit hard and not so funny, 'cause a lot of jokes that you made is funny just in english. Well, anyway, thank you for made it o/ When we finish it I'll make a post here =) So...see you guys in 1 or 2 years lol
 
One of the reasons I didn't reply yet (also I suck at answering emails) is that I'm updating the guide in just a few days, so you'll want to wait until then at least. Should I tell the other guy that you're doing it and he should get in touch with you if for some reason he wants to be in on it?

Um, well, I'm sure there are word processors that can highlight the differences in two documents. It's not entirely reworked or anything, just the odd correction and addition snuck in here and there. I'll mail the other guy, then, and maybe you'll hear from him.
