Fourth fusion battery (Preoria)

So, do I have to keep all the tribals alive for the chief to give me the fourth battery? The two wilders by the turrets keep buying it even if I try to protect them...

EDIT: Figures out I got the cell anyway. Is there a point to achieving 0% collateral damage other than political correctness?

Is there a point to this thread? I mean, really, you found the fourth battery, right?

Anyway: use drugs on the turrets. Really, three or four doses of drugs and the turret will die from an overdose. It's the easiest way to get rid of them.

I can't, I'm fresh out of Fuzzy Logic Powder, I used it all up to recruit B1000 :look:

Well, I'm not kidding, though. It's one of the many flaws in the game. Turrets can get a drug overdose and die from it. It beats hitting them endlessly with a cattle prod or shooting at them for a quarter of an hour. When you destroy the turrets outside, you can easily get that fourth battery.

Just keep someone back to throw the switch on and off, in CTB you should be able to advance through each section quick enough that the topside turrets don't activate if you turn the switch off once the rest of the squad are through each set of doors. In TB the timers only count down once everyone has had their turn so as long as you flip the switch you should be okay.

The turrets being affected by drugs is a little silly, though they should of made the turrets and robots take water damage. That would of been better than a plastic water pistol firing acid.

Uh, I thought you were in alec-mode, alec.

Anyway, I killed the turrets with kalashnikovs losing two tribals in the process, but I got the battery. I wonder what is the acceptable loss of life on part of the villagers to get the batery.

Oh well, I've beat Quincy and I'm off to Springfield now.

Looking at the triggers you can only allow the two tribals either side of the ladder by the turrets to die if you want to get the fourth battery. They are on a seperate player index and don't count towards the respective triggers.

On the other hand if they do get killed, you lose 100 reputation points.

Looks like there is a point to this thread after all. I was replaying Preoria, trying to spare the two tribals and not fight the turrets as you suggested. (It is possible, if you coordinate your team right)

So, as I emerged from the underground, I stepped up to Chevron and he gave me the speech saying he'd give me the battery. But he didn't. So I reloaded, tried stealing, killed the turrets, pulled switches, gambled, spoke with another character - all to no avail.

Finally, I dropped the three batteries my character was carrying, and THEN talked to Chevron. Then he gave me the missing battery. Bam, 150 xp points.

Hope someone finds this useful.

After you talked to him did you check your entire squad's inventory? FOT will pass an item to the nearest character under your control, to the npc in question. Not necessarily the character you used to initiate the conversation.

All characters bar my Avatar were on the exit grid ATM, so he was th nearest... But, no, I haven't.

Also, another bug: In the room in front of the one with American flags (The one with a number of lockers and a safe), when I stood in front of it next to the wall corner, my main char stood in such a place that when I selected him the map turned pitch black (as if I switched to another map elevation) and I couldn't move him or do anything! Had to reload.

Never seen that before, nor have I just been able to duplicate it. Usually if the level doesn't pop you can get back to viewing your character by clicking on their name tab.

I could switch to it, but I couldn't move him, since no area of the map was visible.

Anyway, it must have been just a freak bug.

I know this doesn't strictly adhere to the threads topic but it's been over four years since I played FOT, and if my memory serves me right I had the turrets kill all the tribals and upon looting the booty I found a freakish amount of boom bugs on the village elder. :o That was funny, coz that was the first time I had used my char as ammo carrying mules, something I got quite used to in the later stages of the game. Not to mention that the grenades proved quite useful as well, unlike some other things I had been stockpiling.
BTW, was that the elder with a woman’s face and a male’s voice?

Preoria Bugs

Hello

I've almost completed this mission, but now I'm stuck. One of the Batteries disappeared from my inventory. I've emptied all the blue lockers. I'm positive I picked the three batteries up, however, I only find two in my inventory.
When I exit, the Elder won't talk to me, despite me having prevented the killing of the villagers. Everytime I click the Elder, the Gamble screen automaticly pops up.:-s
Any idea what's wrong? I'm playing with Patch 1.27.

Thanks in advance.

Did you get the victory text pop up whilst underground? It should of done when you picked up the third powercell. Are the exit grids on?

If the answer is no then you didn't find all the powercells.

The powercells aren't all in blue lockers.

The elder will only speak to you again if you have all three cells.

The cells were in three blue lockers, BUT... I feel pretty ashamed... I managed to drop one Power Cell and only saw it lying (sp?) around by chance.
So everything turned out fine. My apologies for the fuss.
*goes off to commit sepuku*

I'll have to prove you wrong though.

The 1st locker, in the room with the safe, *is* blue. The lighting just doesn't make it appearant.

The second locker has the radscorpion hiding nearby, and is clearly blue.

The 3rd locker is near Roachor, and is also blue.

V1.27, and I checked it earlier today.

Actually only the second locker is blue, the first has been coloured purple in the editor but the lighting and certain graphics cards/monitors tends to negate that. The third one is coloured blue in the editor but the saturation was kept low giving a purplish end result.

I've registered especially to tell you that I've found it extremely useful :D Thank you!

PS. It's not the elder, but one of the tribesmen has in fact around 200 boom bugs that I didn't bother to steal. I can return there later on, right? I have about 1,5k fusion cells safely stored in 3 undestroyed surface turrets, remaining 4.5k is in the trunk 8-)

P.P.S. Yeah, necro, I know, but still useful...
