Although it probably been done, i made a frank horrigan mod. It's my first actual working mod, so i'm really excited about releasing it to the public. Very fun. all the info for installation is included in a very detailed readme. have fun. just as a note, you need the 1.0.5 patch

Hey Vampire Squid :-)

Any reason why you didn't choose to build your mod on top of killap's patch? The 1.05 patch is rather old and there are a bunch of unaddressed bugs in it that were fixed by killap with his patch later.

Well im a noob. It shuld work on killap's as long as u can get the proto item added properly.
 
either i have a bad copy of mapper, or f2mapper doesn't work with killap's patch. Sorry but i can't make a fh mod for the new patch. maybe combine killaps and the 1.0.5?

My patch works just fine with the mapper. You may have have to patch it first to allow the addition of more locations, but that really shouldn't be a problem since no new locations were added in my patch. I had just updated the exe for my upcoming expansion since it will obviously have new places.
 
ok. i downloaded your updated patch. I also dowloaded the official mapper and the script update for it. It should work now. My first mapper was downloaded from this german influenced site.
 
wth. It still doesn't work. Every time i make a item, a .pro file isn't made, and the text file in the dev\proto\items\ has no words in it.
 
u know what. Eff this. Im just uninstalling all my fallout stuff. Then i'm installing a clean version, and adding killap's patch. No mods and no mappers. I'll leave modding to the experianced. Screw my stupid frankhorrigan mod too.

You screw up your mod...never make backups?
I have one original FO2 install in backup map.
Standard: c:\Program Files\Blackisle includes FO2 & FO2 Mapper.
I'm using different mods (all compleet installs in backup), only replace the fallout2 folder (not overwrite, delete first) with the data from the mod i wanna use.
So if you make a mess just delete the data in Fallout folder and copy the original files or the mod files back in it.
No mess in register :)

My Fallout2 Backup folder with almost all downloads holds: 7,40 GB
What's 10 GB today :D

***EDIT:
I use killaps patch.
In the Friendly Klint patch are the items:
data\art\inven\parmor2.frm
data\art\item\parmor2.frm
data\proto\items\00000532.pro

Modify item list.
Put them i the FO2 folder, edit in F2Wedit if you think the armor or name need to be modified. AC = 0, DT and DR are very high.

Place in FO2 mapper Sam Pritchard's map weapon at the entrance of the temple.
Save the map.
Now you have the new working files:
data\art\inven\parmor2.frm
data\art\item\parmor2.frm
data\art\item\item.lst
data\maps\artemple.map
data\proto\items\00000532.pro
If not use the mapper download the Huge.zip.

Good luck, you find yourself a huge armor.

Edit:

Download version will be replaced by Silencer, armor is modified.

I think I know what your problem is, there's a reasonable chance that the *.lst file in the protos directory is read only so that mapper cant add a new entry.

What sort of proto are you adding?

Critters = critters.lst
Items = items.lst

Just right click on the file and make sure the read only box is not ticked.

PS: Sure FO2 modding can be a pain in the neck at times, I wouldn't give it up though. When you do figure out what was going wrong and get it to work its a just an awesome moment to experience.
