I'm also looking for a map.

I know there used to be one online, but the site is gone.

please help

S.

MDKRemus: That is a special encounter and in the main of the game, unless you are talking about a map specifically using Pip-Boy, then I don't know which it would be.

Silencez: Yes, we have maps. Lots of maps.

You are welcome for the help.

mayby I wasn't really clear

I I'm looking for a MAP (like the map in the game) for Fallout Tactics, if possible divided in squares as in the game (A-Z,1-99 etc)

online or downloadble.

ps, the encounter maps in the main menu are not loading btw.

MP3 files still around?

Maybe I wasn't clear, either.

Oh, you'll find that all FOT maps have that. It's called tiling.

online or downloadble.

I think they are all downloadable if they are online and can be accessed, in fact.

ps, the encounter maps in the main menu are not loading btw.

You mean the images of the FOT Special Encounters page, of what encounters you can find? Yes, the paths of that needs to be a bit adjusted, but I believe it's something currently being worked on.

Roshambo

thnx for helping me, but we are talking next to each other here.

what I need is a geografical map, so I know where all the special random encounters are located (example: 2 mutant brothers in E3 or someting), so that I do not need to drive around to search them.

this also for bunkers and villages etc.

anything on MP3 music file for FOT?

Hint for future reference: use the words 'WORLD MAP' to avoid confusion.

DUH. Finally you get around to the important parts, which map you're wanting to find, in a form that gives people some hope of understanding what you are asking for.

You could try playing the game, as IIRC, some locations will not show up if you don't have knowledge of them. The random encounters are at the same square every time, too. I would also advise against trying to get each and every special encounter, especially more than once. This could really cause problems with your game.

anything on MP3 music file for FOT?

Well, if it's not in our files section, I'd guess that if it exists, you can probably find it through Google. Did you bother to look there, or just start posting on whatever forum you liked?

yes, I used google.

seems the this is the last active FOT site online....

vault13 and /www.rpgplanet.com/fallout are gone....

well,

searched the whole day now, tried the sites you said..
nothing... I think I'll have to give up.
Did found a worldmap of Fallout 1&2 though :-)

IIRC, there was a site before, very popular, who had and interactive world map of Fallout Tactics. That was also the site who had also some extra MP3 files for added music/sound background.

Does anyone remembers this or does anyone has this stuff offline stored?

thnx,

Guiler's FAQ lists some of the squares where you can get special encounters.

http://db.gamefaqs.com/computer/doswin/file/fallout_tactics.txt

For example
2 Sq North of Bunker Beta
1 Sq North, 3 Sq West of Bunker Beta
1 Sq West, 3 Sq South of Brahmin Wood
2 Sq South of Preoria
2 Sq South, 3 Sq West of Macomb
1 Sq East, 3 Sq South of Macomb

The encounters are seemingly random, but they can only happen in certain squares. Be carefull doing this because if you get every special encounter, the next time you walk across a special encounter square and the game decides you are supposed to get one, the game will always crash because there are none left.

If you ever find a workaround for this nasty bug sure to post it here.

I don't go looking for the special encounters, so I've never noticed the problem, but if you're patched to 1.27 or have the editors then you can try this;

Extract the Bos.cam and the campaign.txt from the bos files, I think the campaign.txt is in the entities bos file not sure about the bos.cam. (if you've extracted all the files to use the editor or by using the booster don't forget to back things up before editing them or use the path set up) Bos.cam should go to core\campaigns
and the campaign.txt should go to core\tables.

Open up the campaign.txt and scroll down to the Unique Encounter Mission Definitions, then change the end of one entry to false,

i.e. change

"campaigns/missions/special/missionZ27.mis;mission_name_Z27;20;true;true",

to

"campaigns/missions/special/missionZ27.mis;mission_name_Z27;20;true;false",

Then save the file and open up FT Tools, open the bos.cam in the campaign editor and import the special encounters, (along the top, tools\import special). Then click the special box so that you see the list of special encounters (the map will of turned green) set the grid to 1 1 1, select mission_name_Z27 and place it on the map, turning one square red.

Save the cam file and hopefully that should remove the error (but only in a new game). Don't do it to any encounter where you can recruit an npc, i.e pipboy, riddick etc because you might confuse the campaign triggers.

thnx already!

more info on the world map is always Appreciated.
still looking for extra MP3 files to play with Fallout Tactis, so all is Appreciated!

Simple: don't patch the game. I've never ever had this happen to me while playing the unpatched version. I think the patched game crashes when you revisit a special encounter because the developers wanted to find a way to prevent the player from using the duplication bug. Lousy attempt to fix that bug anyway.

I wrote down the directions to the Pipboy encounter in my manual. It reads: "From Newton, go 6 squares to the east and then 8 squares to the north." Mind you, though: the special encounters always take place in the same location, but which special encounter you will find there is kind of random. So visiting the area where I once had the Pipboy encounter might give you a totally different special encounter.

I did a search through RPGfrance and couldn't find anything. There is a small matter of not being able to speak french that inhibited my ability to do anything useful. But Yeah, could not find for the life of me a world map of FoT
