I have heard/read somewhere that there is a way to get any fullscreen game in a window instead. I've been trying to get Fallout 1 to do this as I've recently picked it back up, and am curious as to how to do this. I've got Windows XP Pro, pretty standard system.
unless you have a problem/ugly view/etc. when you play in full screen, then I dont see why you would play in windowed...?
You can play the DOS version of Fallout 1 windowed in DOSBox. VirtualPC will do it for the other games, doubt it's worth the money just for that though.
Yeah, I heard that there were some that will do it, but I am not sure of the names of the utilities that manage it.
Not TOO ugly, other than the resolution being way too low (I have a 22 inch monitor and it looks really grainy... would ideally be playing it in 1280x1024) I would like to play at work and it's a lot easier to alt-tab to another window instead of alt-tabbing out of fullscreen because the monitor clicks and theres always a few second lag.
Wow, I'm a jackass. Like 6 posts down was this: "Fallout in Windowed mode" http://www.nma-fallout.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8162 Guess I shoulda paid a little attention before I posted. Haven't had my asshole ripped out yet at least Alright, I am gonna go do some investigating on some other forums and see if I can get an answer, since apparently I'm not the only one that wanted this done. If I find anything useful, I'll let you guys know.
