Gameplay videos: "Everybody Boom" & "Dama

phreque

First time out of the vault
Grabbed Fallout 3 on release day and have lost myself in the new wasteland.. I spent more time playing Fallout 2 during middle and high school than I care to admit.
Long story short, I wanted something to show for my time spent other than bags under my eyes from losing track of time and playing until 3 a.m.. Had Fraps on deck and wanted to finally do more than scratch the surface with Sony Vegas, so I did. Both videos are available in two flavors - Youtube stream, and high-quality .wmv direct download from my site ( www.phreque.com ).

Quick note - the music from "Damage Undone" is available from my site, linked above, along with plenty more, free for download with no registration of any kind. Go nuts!

Wow. Either you have one hell of a good pc or you simply know how to capture footage very well. The image quality of those vids is super crisp, man. Together with some screenshots I saw in The Vats earlier today, that's the clearest footage of the game I've seen so far.

I also like the music you did for the second vid. Did you use samples from A Rat's Nest EP (Thom Yorke) to make that? 'Cause the beginning sounds very similar.

I hate FO3, but I like your vids. Well done.

It's a mighty good PC I bought last December (Dell XPS420, Q6600 (4x2.4ghz) 4GB RAM, Nvidia 8800GT). It's been a fantastic music machine, and has now proven to be plenty for video editing and Fallout 3. There's a quick studio pic below, if you're curious. Also, glad you liked the music! No samples were used at all - everything I do is from-scratch, including my loops and kits. More satisfying that way ;)

That chair looks mighty comfortable.

Compared to yours, my "studio" looks like a caveman's dwelling place.

If only I had some money... :(

For something like 10 years I too had the "caveman's lair" type of workspace. Only when I moved to Austin two years ago did I toss that style out the window and set up the new apartment the way I wanted.

The chair is from Office Depot. Saw it on their demo floor, had a seat, and one 'oh, hell yes' later I was shoving one in the car. It's wicked comfy and wasn't outrageously expensive, as I recall.

There's absolutely no helpful brand or part number info on the chair. I know I've seen this and ones very much like it at nearly every office store though. It's just a tight mesh fabric type.

Ehh. Still, worth every penny when one spends a lot of time in front of a computer. Nothing worse than a bad chair and its associated back pains.

Nice work man cool shots and nice editing. Nice neouro dnb track on the first one but i liked you music as well. Good thing it's free :)
