Well the Gamespy Gaming Grudge continues, on 2 of March Fallout 2 will face none other than Baldurs Gate 2. So gear up guys, let's all vote for our beloved Fallout.
It's also placed into a category alongside Diablo 2, Kotor, Age Of Empires 2,Warcraft 3, C&C Red Alert and lastly Starcraft... Strange category tho....

Now thats a messed up category. Were they like: "Gee, it would be cool is we had a RPG/RTS category!"?

Starcraft and Fallout 2 is a close call in my opinion. While I prefer Fallout 2 to starcraft, a LOT of people would vote for Starcraft, as it is widley knows as one of the great classic games (If not THE classic game of all time). (People still play the SC Bnet on a regular basis. Lots of people)

When Fallout 2 does come to blows with Starcraft, we'd better be ready to vote our asses off to compete with it. Diablo 2 is not anything to sneeze at either.
 
Fallout is also known as a classic game maybe not as much as Starcraft but its still widely known, it just sold like shit.

Humm, I loved Baldur's Gate 2, and me girlfriend
hated me for loving it, cause I made the nights

Even if Fallout doesn't win, just competing in the same category with those other fantastic games should be a great honor for its developers. All these titles are legendary and among the greatest games of all times - perfect company for the epic masterpiece that is Fallout 2.

Even if Fallout doesn't beat out Baldurs Gate, we could still make the Extra Life slot.
But that shouldn't even need to happen cause we're going to DOMINATE BG2. In order to ensure our victory, make sure to vote on as many different computers (or IPs) as possible. If i'm not mistaken, the Polls at Gamespy lock out your IP after you've voted. So if you're lucky, and don't have a static IP, vote away!
 
Fallout 2 will probably beat BG2(though it depends on how many people played BG2 and not F2). Then F2 will get it's arse kicked by the lame D2 players. D2 will then face off against none other than Starcraft and.....taht could go both ways.

Just my predictions...

PPS: Ratty, what is that stuff? FO2 shouldn't even be tried to be compared to the likes of BG2 or Diablo 2. It's on a completely different level. Not to mention the complete weirdness of it being compared to Starcraft and the likes of that. Hrmph.
 
I agree, there is too much genre diversity within categories, so it isn't really easy to compare these games (What the hell is Gamespy thinking with that, anyway?). My point is, all these games are great and each is a legend not only of its own genre, but of video gaming in general. From that point of view they are very much comparable.

Oddly enough they haven't pitted Quake 1 against Quake 2?
 
Today is the big day. In a little less than an hour, the polls open for Fallout's bracket. We really need to step up and vote like fuckin crazy people. Baldurs Gate needs to crash and burn.
