Gamespy Gaming Grudge

LOL!

This is fun, I like to see raging fallout fanboys voting like mad in online polls, me included.

Wow! I made 50 votes yesterday, and we won by 49 votes! I feel so special :P

Unfortunatley I'm almost 100% positive our run ends here. Fallout my be a great game, but lets face, it doesn't have the following of any of the other 4 games (suprisingly all Blizzard... gee who would have guessed) left.

Diablo 2, hack 'n slash fun. I've got to admit I play the game, but it is nothing compared to Fallout 2. However, it with 16,000+ votes in the D2 v KOTOR matchups, and D2 winning fairly comfortabley, I dont fancy FO2's chances.

Still, beating Baldurs Gate (closest matchup thus far ;) Looks like Buldurs gate will get an Extra Life).

Now, get those voting scripts up quick, so we can do the impossible and win this damn thing!

Programmers Unite

I am a programmer with C/C++ and PHP experience and i'm sure I would be able to make something to vote continously 24/7. Maybe using several IP addresses. I am wondering how the voting system was made so we might be able to figure out something to beat a measly 10000 votes. Also i'm confident that BG2 will unite against D2?

Hey... you there.... :wiggle: I heard you are interested in helping our casue. But you are new here and I don't trust you. I need a proof that you are on our side. Maybe you are a spy. Which compiler do you use? Who is your best friend in Fallout 1 and Fallout 2?

Keep us updated on your progress, we need all the help we can get to beat Diablo...

Recruit BG2 players? Sounds like a good idea to me, where's their biggest forum?

I've used many compilers but I mostly just use gcc or g++ and some times MIcrosoft Visual Studios..... I've been living in FPS land (Worked at Day of Defeat as Web Admin) since Fallout and Fallout 2 came out :) When I heard Fallout 3 wasnt being released I felt so pissed that I played and beat Fallout 2 for the 7th time. Best friend in Fallout 1 was Ian and Dogmeat. In Fallout 2 my friends were sulik, maria(I know shes useless), gorin, and cassidy.

So I need some help on how the voting works because I wasnt able to make the first one. I have access to 3 internet connections of T1+ which should be able to handle 1 million votes haha... Here are few questions:

Are IPS logged? This would also be hard to beat since my T1 connections are static ips :(

Do you need to register an account to vote? This is probably the toughest one to beat.... It would be unrealistic to beat depending on the registration requirements.

Are cookies used? Easy to get around. Use a Unix system and just block cookies.

Anyone wanna share their experiences.. Thanks.

Right, well I don't know if IP's are logged. I don't think they are, but I got blocked from voting more than once, but on gf's comp I could vote more than once from same ISP.

Don't need to register, so no problem there.

I'm thinking it was the cookies that got me, most people here could vote more than once, so pile the votes on.

Fallout will prevail!

Is voting all Day? Also is it just an URL that you can vote multiple times? You just keep on pressing refresh?

I'm not sure if cookies are enabled.

It was one site, and you just had to remove the ?voted=1 piece, or go back a page and resubmit your vote.

I used Iopus to generate a macro that seemed to work fine, I was doing 10-20 votes ever 2 minutes or so.
