Darwin's Food Chain

The coordination does have the smell of collaboration.

Perhaps, it's just an inbred "old boys" network. They don't get out very much, in an intellectual stimulating way, and must mold their virtual reality with the same standardized material.

Less a conspiracy and more, ... a circle jerk.

Maybe one could detect the moldy tang of collusion, and the heavy hand of monopolies herding the domesticated creatures.

As the big fish shall eat the small. One can tremble in " wet anticipation " for the incestuous orgy "entitled" to the minions of market domination.
All we need now is 100% 'vertical-ization' to await an enlightened capitalist era as
blessed as when ROBBER BARONS walked the earth.

The major entertainment corporations will own all, and be all.

The real conspiracy may be the 'made men' of the corporate mafias NOT telegraphing their bias in bare ass-ed masochism.

(Unless, self humiliation, oaths of fealty, would sell more 'copy' . a.k.a. more shelf space, a.k.a. more commodity ""boxes"" ..... which may, or may not - EVER need - to contain 'games'.)

Or perhaps the game review media, and electronic games are to be homogenized into the BORING pap that is 'commercial' radio and television.

The vista of ""400 channels and nothing on"" is impending on the event horizon.

As the abused market-eers cry all the way to the bank, perhaps the only morons are the deluded who ''' believe ''' the predigested press releases of canned events like "" E 3 "".

Pity for the morons.
About this much [ ... ].

Maybe some bright spark will start a collection for a preservation society. Be sure to skim at least 80% for expenses.

Pity for the morons.
Even in these 'faith based' --- daze.

Pilgrims predestined to be road kill. Run down by divinely accelerated rates of PAPER profits of stock inflating, market-eering juggernauts.

The Creationists may doubt Darwinism for it's biological relevance in this brave new, AMERICAN CENTURY, yet it's easy to see how the hierarchy of monied dominance apply to our social, cultural, economic, and ... spiritual agendas.

On the other hand, Bethesda is a small, independent developer and publisher not beholden to any of the "big boys" like EA or Microsoft, or even 2K games which is distributing Oblivion (but not publishing it -- they have no say over content or timing of release). Despite our independence and relatively small size, we're doing pretty well.

Distributing without publishing? That's a pretty good deal and one a lot of small developers (Troika?) don't get.

My issue with this wasn't big vs. small devs, though. I think these nominations showed exactly why E3 awards are pretty dumb. Not just because they don't make a distinction between a "pure" CRPG like Oblivion and a hack-n-slash one like Diablo/Hellgate:London, but they also make no distinction between finished product and barely anything, like Oblivion vs. HG:L.

I agree with Gamecloud, they tend to be wrong too many times to be taken seriously
