GCD files help

Finesse

Look, Ma! Two Heads!
Is there any other way to chnage the gcd files setting/attributes without an hexeditor? I already found a tutorial how to do it with a hexediter but I... am not fond of hexediting

Anyone know of a different, easy way or do I have to bite the bullet on this one?

I seem to remeber finding a tool that can do it for you somewhere. I'll take a look now.

*EDIT*
When you create a new character in Fallout2 spend the char points
and save the character. The get the newly created ".gcd" file and open
it with a hexeditor. Change the following lines to "0A" (for 10 - maximum possible here):

Offset - Byteaddress - Type
0 - 8 - ST
10 - 2 - PE
10 - 6 - EN
10 - 10 - CH
20 - 4 - IN
20 - 8 - AG
30 - 2 - LK

Voila, all you characteristics are on 10 and that increases the skills as well.

Because that only lets you make normal characters rather than one that is not balanced correctly.

I suspose with an external editor you can make characters who are either really awesome or really bad.

Try beating FO2 with a character how only has '1' for each of his states!
