    Any of you modders out there talented enough to come up with a toggle for turning off the "Karma" system? As it is it just doesn't make any sense. For example, killing a Powder Ganger gives you good karma but looting their shit gives you negative karma--dumb. Not only that, but I thought we were supposed to be more ambiguous about who is "good" and who is "bad". If I kill a guy and get good karma for it isn't the game basically telling me he was a "bad guy"? Again, dumb.

    A few things:

    1) Powder Gangers ARE bad. They steal, pillage, and terrorize. Nothing about them is good at all. Most of them are escaped convicts as well.

    2) Caesar's Legion, on the other hand, is not "bad," but they do evil things in order to purge the sinful and the weak for the greater good of society. Without revealing too much, Caesar is similar to The Punisher. You don't necessarily gain or lose karma from killing any of the Legionnaires, at least not that I've seen.

    3) The stealing system is less Obsidian's fault and more Bethesda's. The engine must have trouble removing the ownership of items once their owner dies. I guess it makes some sense because if you kill someone for the primary purpose of stealing their stuff it should have a much larger impact on your karma than only killing them for political reasons and leaving. The game would have trouble determining your intentions.

    Fair enough. I suppose there are probably ties to quests you'd miss out on if karma was nixed too, eh? Thought of that right after I posted.
