2.The Departed :
Interesting story, Di Caprio however didn't really fit in the movie

Care to elaborate? I feel that DiCaprio's performance is probably the best in the film.

It has absolutely nothing to do with his performance. His face isn't simply good for a undercover trooper/unit (or whatever they were called).
Di Caprio had better roles for example in "Catch me if you can" .

However, that is only my opinion.

He does sorta look like a tiddy-widdy wimpy pussy, does he. Not exactly a rough motherfucker you'd expect to be put in this role... BUT, that's why his role is so convincing, at least, that's how i felt when i watched the movie. The fact that he doesn't look like a stone-cold killer allowed him to portray a big array of emotions on-screen, and he did that really well. Imo, a highlight of this movie.

The Presitge

A movie about two magician's fighting for power set in America, pre-industrial times. I loved how the movie brought up the power struggle between Edison & Nikola Tesla (Tesla was a genius).

Also, hello everybody, this is my first post, I look forward to contributing where I can.

Hello and welcome. With your first post, here's your first lesson: No one reads the subject line. No one!

Edit: Bah, I should at least try not to be too spammy. Ok let's see, a movie.... Robocop 2 is still awesome. Cain is a great villain and so is that kid. I wish he was in more movies.

Well I've been watching some old films, just watched Escape from New York and Escape from LA :D it reminded me of the uber awesomeness of Snake, he even surfs a tsunami!

prestige was great. have to rewatch it, first time i was getting drunk and didnt really GET the story.

and vault 13 got BOLLED. its a boll movie, right? tho people say its one of the better bolls.

i had the opportunity to watch 2 great animated movies: paprika and mindgame.

both play with human perception, and play artfully with it. mindgame has a GREAT story - could be based on one of these south american magic realism novellists (or indian, or whatever). one douche fag guy gets involved in yakuza business, and then a whole universe of ideas unravels - plot nearly undescribable. . GREAT movie.

paprika follows a more 'classic' approach, at least plotwise, and 'classic' in terms of anime. therapeutical machine that allows people to share their dreams and thus their subconscious gets stolen, and the thief fucks with other peoples minds. so, its gits, the visuals are chihiro. well worth to watch - actually, the only anime ive seen where one of the main characters is an obese, permanently sweating scientist.

1) The Fountain
I really wanted to like it because of how unique it was but it bored me to death. I will go ahead and say that it sucked.

2) Strange Wilderness
The worst movie I've seen in years. I don't even know what else to say about it, it sucked.

3) Rambo
Not bad, not great. Felt good to watch another Rambo movie though.

hehe

watched "knocked up" yesterday. i liked it. have never seen a woman cry while saying "i like batman" before. watch it in company, it certainly doubles the fun! i love the arguing in that movie. dont know why, mavbe because i have that happy-go-lucky streak in me like that bearded fat guy ><

All the talk about The Prestige and nothing about The Illusionist? I'll be damned. They came out at the same time, and the Illusionist was incredible. Saw it the other night. Edward Norton does a great job playing his character and the fear of change in the government, mixed with Edward Norton's sleight of hands rocked. Not to mention the end was completely brilliant. A+ all around.

I'll give you Knocked Up, I personally think that's the best movie in the whole group of 40 Year Old Virgin/Knocked Up/Superbad. It struck me as the most real and I felt like the characters had the most likeable personalities.

You know, I saw that in theaters and regretted paying to see it... It just was not as funny as I had hoped.

Yesterday I watched the new Angelina Jolie film, "Wanted" and fell more in love with the girl. I whole heartedly expected a joke of a movie but was actually surprised at the level of complexity of the film(directing wise). I was also impressed by some of the action scenes, yes there was a bit of goofy Matrixesque scenes but once you got over that, not bad at all... Besides, you get to see Angelina nekky from the rear! -And that alone makes a movie worth seeing... Like Gia...

The Illusionist is terrific and it is a shame that it came out at the same time as The Prestige. They're both strong movies, but I have to say The Prestige is much more enjoyable. Norton and Giamatti are excellent in The Illusionist, however.

I love Judd Apatow and I loved Knocked Up, but Superbad is my personal favorite of that recent crop of flicks. I loved the dialog and related so much with all three of the main characters. The scene where Evan asks the girl out and then says goodbye and then they walk in the same direction down the hall kills me every time.

well i dont like those high school things... but decided to take superbad anyway, just for lazy sunday "morning" watching... and there were some lulz, i LOVED those cops... immature as fuck ><

Lol, when you mention that scene, I'll give that to you. I think the first half of the movie was great and as you said, can relate to it a lot. However, what killed it for me (sorry horst), was that the second half was just too ludicrous. And that's the part that unfortunately stands out in my mind.

If that's the case, I'm going to have to check out Prestige. My dad always told me it was awful so I never bothered to see it. But if you'll put it above The Illusionist... adding it to my netflix now.
