German The Fall expansion

As we're left waiting for the release of the English version, the Germans are hard at work at expansions for SSE's the Fall:
The game is going to feature two new characters, no bugs (ambitious!), two new maps including a dungeon and new quests, new easter eggs, some new voice acting (new actors and HQ recordings), mountable vehicles to accelerate travel, improved map navigation, improved textures for characters, buildings and landscapes and new character portraits.
Silver Style's Carsten Strehse is quoted as saying that players of the original retail version will be able to download all this new content.
Heh. No bugs.

I suppose "No bugs" means "No new bugs" and I'm not even sure they can manage that one.

I was excited about this game until eons passed and no game, then finally a game, but no english version. You'd think they'd be in a hurry to expand thier market. Not even sure I'd buy a copy now, it's been too much of a letdown already.

The future doesn't look very bright for post apoc RPGs does it? It seems en vogue to call something post apoc and even RPG, even though its really neither. Oh well, back to the compiler.

im still waiting for this game, and if things come to the worst, i'll buy a german one, and hope my german is up to scratch

Yea, unfortunately most of my German revolves around what I learned from watching Hogan's Heroes as a kid.

This game has the strangest marketing campaign I've ever seen. There is a Spanish (oh, come on!) version and no English one yet.

Either they don't have English speaking actors or they are plain stupid.

I don't know if I already said it, but: You shouldn't let customers do the beta-testing.
Maybe they'll manage to patch the most bugs out of this game till next year. After all they make progress.

Or they're just showing their attitude towards England/America (non-Europe).

When did England cease to be part of Europe?

Why should they have anything against customers?
No game developer would be so stupid to miss a good deal and a lot of money for sympathy reasons. Anyway...

Maybe they think they're fine by Germany and Spain, and don't need any 'outsiders' money.

I was (and still am) just kidding, you know...

Maybe they are just trying to get a decent deal from a publisher, you think maybe . . . ?

This is always possible. A lot of game designers in big countries can target only internal markets. Russia in particular is capable of doing this and they do have a publisher there.

But that was never their plan, they're just having publisher trouble. And I think they'll have trouble finding a publisher that'll publish a game with that many bugs, really

That makes me sad. This really could have been a great game. They just should have kept it (thx for help) a few weeks longer in development and not published it so early. :( Good software needs time.

"should have kept it"

And publishers need sales (money), not good software. Which is why the game market is flooded with either complete trash or completely incomplete and rushed projects which would have been great if only the publishers gave them time to "hatch" instead of breaking the egg and pulling them out prematurely.

When it is released all you will probably buy it so you can hate it. Its just like buying Gigli just to see how terrible it was.

No, we have all of the German (and now Spanish!) betatesters to thank for forewarning us.
