Getting old games

So Old I'm Losing Radiation Signs
Orderite
Just curious if anybody here has ideas on getting some older games that doesn't include Ebay or Amazon.

Basically, I'd like to get my hands on copies of the Icewind Dale games and the Baldur's Gate collections.

Atari released DVD sets of these in Europe, but they're a tad expensive on Ebay, and I was curious if anybody here had leads on where I might snag these old gems.

Gaming stores on occasion have older games, older meaning like 10 or more years old games. Just try some second hand shops.

I either go with gaming stores ( there is one in my city which does almost exclusively second hand old games but while you can find beautiful gems they usually are not worth the price they ask for ) and ebay. Sorry bro but ebay is a great tool if you plan to buy big boxed, old and rare games. You have to be lucky and sneaky though...

EDIT : you might want to search for this :

I've bought it for tweny bucks and it contains Baldur's Gate 1+2+Add ons + Icewind Dale 1 +2 + TOEE + Neverwinter Nights + Add Ons + Dragonshard + Demon Stone...

17 Cd's for twenty bucks...Don't know if you can still find it though. I think it was a very limited release.

One online store that is not ebay or Amazon that I have bought from (and have no other affiliation with) is www.gogamer.com . They are not always the cheapest but sometimes they have periodic sales on some items (right now they have a few games that go for $5 US) and they have quite a bit of back catalogue. Lastly, I am not sure if they have restrictions as to where they ship you would have to find that out.

But the price is not worth it ( more than twice the price it originally was sold for )...

The price is ok for me, but it looks like they don't deliver outside France.

Man, I'd like to have that collection. It'd sit well with my RoA and Gothic collections. I tend to lose old discs and long since lost my BG discs, and never played IWD or ToEE.

You're not losing much by not playing IWD, except the in-game art. ToEE was alright, I guess. A bit of a bore.

IWD is an RPG for people who like what RPGs originally were, hack & slashes with some flavor over it.

He's going to be missing a hell of a game, IWD with the difficulty slider all the way up requires some balls, and TOEE on Iron Man is fantastic. Bore my ass.

What D&D originally was, yes. I never liked those pen and paper games, and have always preferred those with a lot more depth than D&D offered (DSA, GURPS).

If anyone knows of a way to get this box be sure to tip me of.

Coming soon, from the makers of The Witcher.

I'm in the beta, so that'll be nice.

Nice to find, but nearly everything there is "out of stock" :(

... or a serious deficit in alternative gaming choices.

The story is bland, the game is linear and it's basically a non-stop BG RTS-style hackfest.

Meh. The thing I liked the most about it was the collapsible menu thingy.

Don't give a crap about the story, Planescape was linear and I didn't give a crap, and the hack and slash was well done and fun.

That's what the game was advertised as.

It's a matter of taste, I don't really care what it was advertised as.

I don't dig hack and slash games. I absolutely loathed Dungeon Siege, for instance.
