God bless smart girls

Took my last final today and cheated damn near every answer off the girl next to me. I noticed her going over her past tests before the final... she scored in the 90's on every one. She definately saved my ass considering i didn't study at all, instead i went out drinking with my friends.

You could also easily replace "smart chick" with "Asian student."

Like Welsh said, the joys of smart women go far beyond cheating.

Heheh, try "exam inviligator!"

Last year I asked a question to one of those hounddogs that watch over the students during their exams, and she gave me the answer TO the question rather than what I was confused about!

Gotta find me some of these "smart women," and not for the exams either!

Whoa! Wierdness! I had a similiar situation happen to me today when I took my ASVAB. I hope I scored ok, but I won't know until after Christmas break at soonest. But Janelle, who apparently has beauty and brains, sat next to me. Now, we got to the science part, and I didn't know jack squat. Well, a few basics, but that's about it. Anyhow, the tests had different answers, but Janelle was a wiz at science, and since there was about 200 kids taking it at the same time, and the teacher just sitting at his desk, reading the paper, and ocassionally bringing his head up to check the time, I braved the dangerous world known as cheating. I ripped a piece of my scratch paper for the math problems and began to hit on her. She wrote back for me to shut up. :( Anyhow, I wrote a few questions on there and asked her if she knew any of them. She answered them all! Later, she told me she told me all of the answers she gave me were wrong, I was about to cry, then she said she was kidding! I won't know what I scored, hopefully I at least got the minimum requirement of 34. Thank God indeed!

Solo/King, I think the ASVAB isn't a test that you would want to cheat a lot on. It's an assessment of your strengths and weaknesses to help you find a job in the military that fits you. If you artificially inflate your score in certain areas, that would reccomend you for jobs that you normally wouldnt either qualify for or dont enjoy doing.

When i took it at MEPS my lowest scores were in mechanics and car repair. I don't know much about that, and I don't have a real interest in it. If i had cheated and gotten high scores in those areas then the test wouldn't accurately reflect my interest and what i'm best at.

Also, don't be so worried about your overall score. Each job (at least for the army) has a individual score requirement, usually your GT score. As long as you do half-decent on the ASVAB you should be able to gualify for most jobs. The thing that stopped most people I knew was that they couldn't get a security clearance for the job they wanted. There was one guy who scored a 99 on the ASVAB within my group, and he also spoke 7 or so languages. But near-perfect scores like that are rare. [/derail]

yeah, smart chicks rock

I am not cheating on it so I can get a better job. Like I said, even if my score is really high, I am still going infantry. Plus, I asked her about four questions. I don't think that would make much a difference since I cruised on the arithmetic, algebra, reading, and common sense stuff.

Hmmm

Paladin, what branch?

My GT was 120 and I had to sit down with my recruiter for about an hour just to go through the bloody list of jobs, I knew what I wanted to do all along, but he said it was mandatory that he go through them all.

Edit: When I enlisted in the US-A last year(Bad IDEA! No offense to you soldiers) I was the only person in MEPS going infantry, seriously. Now I've noticed all these kids going infantry, I wonder where the urge to be in the sticks for weeks at a time, sleeping in a trench with your buddy that a tank might need to pass over appeals to anyone.

By the way, I'm 0311

Mohrg

I'm not quite sure if I am going Marines, or Army yet. I want to be a Ranger, but it would be nice wearing that marine medal on my suit. I was considering going to college and joining and ROTC, or going to a military academy, but now I am considering whether I want to be an officer or not. I am currently getting brochures from West Point and am currently looking at that, but I am not going to get my hopes too high there.

"Life is more simple for a soldier."

Edit: I think the reason more and more kids want to go infantry is because they have been watching to much of Black Hawk Down. I for one, do feal like I have been manipulated by hollywood, but I don't really care. It was something I wanted to do since I was old enough to realize infantry is not a term used for babies.

View thread on things I hate to understand why I quoted this.....

Do not, I repeat do not think just cause you got 11X/AIT/AB/RIP in your Army contract that your going to be a Ranger.

Good luck to you in which ever branch you choose. There are plenty of soldiers here to help you if you decide to "GO ARMY!"

Mohrg

Mohrg, I said I WANT to be a Ranger. I never said it was my destiny. Seesh. Is it ok to WANT to be something? Or is that against the rules too? And thanks, I hope you have good luck in your career too.

Don't let it get you down bud. What comes around, goes around.

Besides, what do you want with some dipshit that doesn't know the quality of a good thing when she has it.

:ok:

yeah, killing people for money really is popular around these boards...

You're not kidding bud.

It's also kind of interesting that before Vietnam, a lot of guys went because they saw John Wayne in the Sands of Iwo Jima.

The Rambo films were also used to recruit soldiers in a lot of countries.

This is all kind of sad really.

no, i really think that shooting innocent people (people who have nothing to do with what their 'leaders' say or think or people who are brainwashed to do what their leaders say) for a living is low...very low.

Right on :ok:

If i had to join the army all over again, I'd choose something other than my current job. I wanted to go EOD (explosive ordanance disposal) but the recruiter convinced me to go Signal. At least the fringe benefits are better when i'm deployed (phones, internet).

Isn't the idea of being in an army so you could shoot at other soldiers and mabye kill some people and blow shit up. But part of joining an army is knowing that so meh.

Also shooting people isn't as bad as making them bankrupt or something. lol
