Good (cheap??) cars?

You could also do a Car Fax/Facts thing on it. I did that with the last car I got..Found out it had never been in an accident, never been re-painted..All good.

The car's a piece of shit, though, so there was nothing CarFax could do about it. Fucking Chevy Malibu's.

That's the problem with carfax- some repairs or changes might not be reported.

It pays to have a mechanic take a look under the hood and inspect for damage. There are other tells if the car has been in an accident.

how about this one?

Just save up 20K and get an 04 SRT-4.....*drools* :P

Sure, you'll be destroying cars twice as expensive, but the thing'll fall apart in 2 years. Dodge Neon's are pieces of junk, and that's speaking from experience (2 friends, 2 messed up head gasgets in 6 total years). Plus numerous other dumb things like squeaky brakes, and rattling windows/doors. I hate to say it, but most American cars suck.

Hmm.... I don't think anything has to deal with the car itself. My mom had a 1992 cavalier, and just got rid of it like a year or 2 ago. She bought it new. It lasted trips all over the east coast, even down to florida and back.
