Lovely work Russia. Of the 117 hostages that died in the hostage situation in the movie theatre in Moscow Russia, 115 of them were killed by the (eternal) "sleeping gas" that was pumped into the theatre during the raid by Russian Special forces. A further 150 are still in critical condition.

Not the best of plans, but hey they saved several hundred more hostages (so far) and the building. Just about any other approach wouldn't have worked without blowing everything up.

Almost everyone that were in there is sick now, so how many more deaths are on their hands...

Well if all of the hostages end up dying they still saved the building! :)

I do not understand why they will not divulge the exact nature of the gas that was used to incapacitate the terrorists.
Foreign analists say that it was likely not a nerve agent, or some sort of chemical weapon. So what is holding the Russian government back from releasing that information to fully erase any doubts.

>>It is berry skarry faiting tha snake.

Maybe they didn't know! They could have just picked up the nearest cannister of juice that was next to the exit of the compound.

What was holding them back from using sleeping gas?Is it rare or something.

I believe sleeping gas takes too long time before it knocks someone out, it seems they used some opiumbased gas and they conferred with several different people (from other countries)..

Yeah I read it was a Cold War era gas meant to knock out ground troops, much like the Cold War knockout gas that the USA has/had, but faster acting, taking only ten minutes to knock out the victim instead of an hour. The people who were exposed to it in the theatre, from what I read, had blood leaking out their mouth and nose, and most, doctors believe, died because they were not treated right away. Most were put into the waiting buses near the scene, but they were mostly limp-necked, and leaning back, which didn't help breathing and increased the chance that they'd choke on their own vomit. The soldiers also had some antidote for the gas but not enough for everyone and they didn't know how to administer it.

Overall it would have worked had the people on scene been prepared and if doctors were allowed on the scene to monitor the people. A costly oversight.

What about tear gas, the terorists would be too blind to set of the explsives.

Good thing you weren't in a position to do anything over there.

Tear gas... *rolls eyes*

For one, a person who is in a cloud of tear gas is still conscious and in full knowledge that he/she is under attack. In the case of the terrorists in the theatre, those bomb-wearing women would've detonated themselves and killed virtually everyone in there.

Things which probably are, sadly enough in your case, the truth.

Anyways, thanks for the laugh. First, when sleeping gas is said to take too long, let's go for something that hardly has an effect at all.

Tear gas... *snickers*

As I've said before, it's a good thing you weren't in charge of anything important.

>I dont see you coming up
>with any sugestions.

1. It would be really foolish to suggest something when you don't know the particulars of a situation.
2. It would be even dumber to suggest something as inane as tear gas, especially when all it might take is a push of a button to set of the explosives.
3. If you're going to suggest something like a stink bomb next, just save bandwidth and hang up your browser and your mouse, and then go suck on the end of a .45 Magnum.
