Goodbye J.E. Sawyer

Hrmm... I wonder if it involved the team being put under such restrains or forced to use so many Interplay ideas (sorta like multiplayer, real time etc) that he just realized he wasnt working on the dream job he had thought he was.

Beats me though. I hope we can find out sometime and best of luck to JE man, I respect you.

Good to hear, Puuk. I am, however, still curious as to why JE has left, since he has stated reasons are not medical or personal life related. Since he has often stated how Fallout 3 is his dream project.

Maybe someone made him an offer he couldn't refuse?

When talking about Audi, SR6 is the only way to go.

@Puuk: Thanks for letting us know

For that much money, there are better cars. At least for prices in the states.

Depends on what you mean by "better", performance wise the SR6 is on the level of many sportscars, with the driving comfort of a sedan.

Actually, that was ignorant of me to say, as the sr 6 won't be available for another year by us, so its hard to judge what the price will be.

You're telling me that I go away for a three hour physics lab and dinner and this is what I come back to? Dammit, I'm glueing myself to a computer from now on! Obviously the gods are punishing me for not spa... posting at NMA as much as I should!

Very similar to what I feel right now - after being out the whole day, I come back and click on the FO3 forum and see "How will JE's resignation affect FO3?". I thought it was a joke at first - why would he quit his dream job? It's good to know the parts he was responsible for are almost done, but WTF?

Well, whatever your reasons, best of luck to you in the future JE.

I seem to rember someone (Rosh, mabye?) saying that Trokia was trying to hire him.

Also, I one joked in a thread in the Sellout: Peice of Shit forum that:

In fact, it's so highly anticipated, that J.E. Sawyer will soon "borrow" the Fallout license and lead all the people at Black Isle into the Human Resources department at Trokia Games!

Well, one out of three ain't bad, right? He hasn't taken Black Isle Studios or the Fallout License with him...

Well at least is seems nearly everyone in the fallout community had a good day today, congratulations all round I suppose.

Let's face it: Josh Sawyer loved Fallout and Fallout 3 was his dream project, in the face of not being paid he still was willing to carry on working and "not desert my team". Interplay's gone and fucked up somewhere that we're not being told about to piss him off enough to leave. My advice to BIS: leave Interplay, as a community we'll get over FO3 not being made just yet, and we can join in our hatred of Interplay and their 'by retards, for retards' games together. I have confidence in BIS' talent, but JE's departure has just confirmed to me that, unfortunately, we will not get FO3 any time soon: we will just get thongs and 'but...but, SEX SELLS...and thongs MAKE M3 HORN3Y!!!' from Interplay. I would love to be the raving madman who is speaking garbage, but I don't think I am.

Hm...I'm pretty shocked at all this. JE seemed like he really enjoyed working on FO3 and at Black Isle, and despite a lot of our flak he put up with us very well...

God speed JE, hope you find something that will make you happy. Also - thanks for always being vocal with the fanbase. It was truly appreciated.

You're wrong. You are.

And JE hasn't been working for free. Neither has anyone else.

Ok. But..... I'm just mighty confused right now. I can't get over the fact that we have the guy who loved fallout and joined interplay to work on f3, leaving out of the blue. and he joins a steady stream of talented employees leaving - the only people who aren't leaving are those working on the next FOBOS which I'm sure is being made. So if this guy leaves....ugh I can't be bothered to work myself up again about it. Can a great game be made under conditions that make prominent employees, and ones who have heavy responsibility in the game's direction, leave every few weeks? It just depresses me because Fallout is one of the few games I really love.

Heh....Watch JE goes over to Troika.... now that would make me laugh.....

This sucks for BI, they lost a great designer for future games....But I'm not alone in my sorrows.
