Gothic II, just played the demo . . Wow!!!

I've finished both Gothic I and II (with Addon) in German a couple of weeks ago and I cannot possibly praise these games enough.

There are a lot of games that promised outstanding interactivity, living and breathing game world and smart characters on the game covers, and Gothic actually manages to pull it all off.

Just now I've 'infected' a friend of mine into playing it, and I'm greatly enjoying watching him progress in the story.

After finishing both games I kind of started to miss their game worlds but decided against replaying them right away. Actually I was thinking I'd finish Gothic II with Addon about in time for Gothic 3's release. Couldn't have been more wrong as it turned out I was playing this every day and night. Which is very unusual with me. Normally I take a lot of time to finish a game. Especially a game this size.

If somebody has any questions about this game, I'll be happy to answer if I can.

I also own and know both Gothics (and NotR).
These games are GREAT, and I even somehow thought about how Fallout would look on that engine (please dont bash me, it's just a thought).

Oh, and one more thing - living in Poland has it's advantages:

We get a fully translated Gothic I and Gothic II AND Night of the Raven. sometimes living in a piss-poor country has it's advantages, eh?
:P

Heh, I didn't notice this thread before. I just finished Gothic and started Gothic II, which so far is even better.

I've never understood the problems people have with the Gothic control sheme. I tried out the alternate controls in GII but couldn't bring myself to use them.

PS: Last year I said that to my knowledge no Action-RPG - as defined in the conext, not Diablo 2 - has been made. I guess I was wrong, because if Gothic isn't just that I don't know what it is.
