I want to get into a big MMO. Are there any that aren't subscription based, or will I have to shell out an extra 14 bucks a month?

Haha, suckas. I got a new 128 Meg graphics card, and nVIDIA Ge Force FX 5200, and an extra 256 RAM. And, here's the cincher, it cost the exact same as getting anATI 128 meg card, and a 128 RAM card. So, 128 megs of free space. I'm happy.
Ugh. Jesus, you know way too little about PCs to be buying parts.
It's not about the amount of RAM on a video card, it's about the video card core, internal speeds and such. A lot of mid-end cards nowadays don't utilise anywhere near the 256 MB they have, but it looks cool, so they have it anyway.
A lot of notebook video cards, for instance, have a lot less RAM but perform admirably.

There's Guild Wars that isn't subcription based, there's also Saga of Ryzom and Silkroad Online. In either case, MMOs are the devil, stay the fuck away, but if you need e-crack, try one of those three. Just keep the hell away from WoW, EQ2, and FFXI.

What's EQ2?
Everquest 2, see also: shit, garbage, abberation, hell.

On the subject of computers, find a friend, man. It's going to take a long time before you are ready to build your own computer. Granted it's the only way to go if you want a quality machine at a decent price, but you'll need a computer savvy friend's help for it judging from your posts. Make sure you pay attention, ask him some questions, and learn what you can. It will save you a lot of money and trouble.

Ah. Yeah. I was incredibly happy when I realized my computer still worked after I installed everything...
