First time out of the vault
Hey, I talked to Gruthar in Vault 13, fixed his damn stuff, and now he attacks me, saying something about me being a "treacherous human". What gives?


Can I just take the GECK and slide off with it back to the village?
 
no idea why he attacks you... but yeah, you can take za GECK and slide off back to the village, butehm, the village is dead...

Per, I've also had a problem with Gruthar attacking me. I've found the only way to finish the quest is to have the Voice Recognition Module with me when I first visit V13. If I leave to get it, then he attacks me whenever I try to talk to him (aside from the first meeting). Don't know if this is the exact problem that Mr Cheater is having.
 
I found a possible cause for cheater's problem: if you use a skill on Gruthar (First Aid, Doctor or Steal) he turns hostile but doesn't enter combat until next time you talk to him. If you don't have an archived save before entering V13 the best solution would indeed seem to be to grab the GECK and innocently sidle past Gruthar on the way out. That doesn't seem to account for the other problem, though, so I'll take another look.
 
Ergh, it's not like I revealed to him that the main boss is a mutant freak grandson of the master...

sorry, tried to make up for the mistake --failed...can't do anything but say I'm sorry...
 
Couldn't find any obvious cause for your problem, Big T - the only ways to turn him hostile except for the skill thing as far as I can tell are pissing him off in dialogue or becoming a V13 enemy by directly harming him or any other V13 resident.

Well, I'm stumped then. I never use any skills on him - aside from attempting to steal from him the very first time I was there - so it can't be that. I don't think I pissed him off through dialogue either, maybe the first time I was there with the "Deathclaws can't be trusted" type of comments, but not really other than that.
Does killing DCs from outside the vault have any effect? I don't think I did that - you don't get many DCs in that area - but that is all that I can think of.
Also, does talking to the dissident (the guy who wants in to kill all the baby deathclaws) affect it? But, again, I don't think that's to blame.
 
Killing DCs has no effect, execpt in the vault.

Do you have a negative karma ? Did you REALLY piss off anyone in the vault ?


ANd big one. Are you a child killer ?
 
I wonder if your a female character can you sleep with gruthar...are you thinkin what im thinkin? Deathclaw/Supermutant porn movie staring Marcus as the pool boy and Gruthar as the sexy young housewife/transvestite who hates her marriage...Oh yea...
