Just tried the Tom Clancy's Hawx demo today and i must say that it was quite enjoyable. i am not into flying/simulator games that much but this one felt really nice. It's not as realistic as some other games but hell if it ain't fun. has anybody else here played the demo? opinions?

If you have a 360, try Ace Combat 6. I liked it more than HAWX. It's also the only flight sim that I liked because it isn't very realistic. Plus, it's probably half the price of Hawx now.

Hawx? what's that? Tom Clancy's Anti-Terrorist Tony Hawk Pro Skate Boarding Elite Spec Ops?

Hawx isn't a simulator, obviously. It's very arcade. Tried it. I guess it's OK for killing time, but I prefer simulators. Oh well, at least Black Shark came out this year. And I hear a WW1 flight sim is in the works.

Hawx runs very well and looks good in dx9, but dx10 lags like shit if sun rays are turned on and coupled with anti-aliasing.

Oh, and the "assistance off mode" is probably the most idiotic thing ever. The game also calls this abortion expert mode, where you can get "full control of the plane". In fact, you are forced to control the plane while looking from a fucked up camera angle, which is more difficult than flying a REAL fucking plane! In a real plane you can at least see the damn cockpit . Expert my ass. More like brainrape mode.

Err I've been playing Blazing Angels: Squadrons of WWII... It's not bad... not terribly accurate either but it seems a might more practical when it comes to the story line over Ace Combat 6. I just don't understand why a government would make their first strike on civilian targets with fighter jets instead of heavy bombers against military installations... They destroy the golden gate bridge and proceed to bomb san fran while dog fighting above the city in the trailer... That made me chuckle and cry a little inside.

What happened to Tom Clancy actually making decent military simulators and realistic Rainbow Games?

Murder simulators are more popular these days.

Realism is superseded by Hyper-Realism.

And kids these days don't have the attention span to plot out a successful hostage rescue.

I know man, it's like, niggas ain't got times to be all fuckin messin with maps and radios and shit. It's like NIGGA GET YO ASS IN THERE AND FUCK SOME NIGGAS UP, you namsain?

Rainbow Six 3 was the last Tom Clancy game I gave a shit about. It became obvious he was more interested in his gaming department at Red Storm "Now osmosised by UBIsoft" making money when the horrible "Sum of all Fears" was released before the movie hit theaters. What? RS3 without blood, dumbed down missions, and retarded AI?

It should have been a precognitive sign.

But goddamn, I remember the fun I used to have with Rouge Spear.

Nah, althought I don't like simulators, but if the game is involving reality, there's gotta be some line in the unrealism (GTA:SA had a much more realistic, and frankly, better, flying mechanism.)
