So I wanna invest in a pair of good headphones. I'm sick of the small ones breaking on me. I'd like ones with good sound quality worth £20 to £40. Cheers.
Sennheiser seems to be the number one brand for gaming headphones nowadays. Personally I'd prefer Creative Labs Fatal1ty headset, but that's only worth buying if you own an X-Fi Fatal1ty soundcard.
I just went through this myself, looking for some good earbuds for under $100. After doing some research, I bought the highly ranked and recommended Ultimate Ear noise canceling earbuds for about $60 (it was a good deal). You will most likely find these in any Top lists and the sound quality was very nice indeed, I could immediately hear the difference between those and the cheap ones I usually get. However, they weren't great for the music I listen to. There was not enough bass and the sound was too tinny and clean, making something like heavy metal or electronic music almost unlistenable. They are great for classical music or something very mellow though.
I ended up giving them away as a gift and did some more research for myself. I found a lot of people with good things to say about Scosche IDR 600 and after watching this video, I pulled the trigger. I have to say that they are absolutely fantastic. The sound is great and actually blows the more expensive UE out of the water. They're noise isolating and sound about as clean as UE but give you more bass and make everything sound more powerful and rich. I highly recommend these. You can find them on amazon for about 45 bucks right now.
