Fallout 2 mod Help Installing MIB88 v2.45

So I've got MIB88 v2.45.3 as well as the v2.45.4 patch, found here. My game version is 1.02, with Sfall v3.2a- the GOG edition. I believe it also includes the high-res patch.

My issue is that when I try to install MIB88, I can get the mod itself working, and the game will run, but I can't get the high-res patch to work. It just won't seem to apply, and same goes for windowed mode. I can select my resolution and windowed mode in the options, but they won't actually do anything. It'll still be non-windowed and in awful resolution.

Essentially what I'm asking is, how should I go about installing this mod? I've tried installing it a couple different ways as per online guides, but they all result in the situation described above. Is there anything I'm missing?

If anyone can help, I'd be grateful. I'll also be glad to provide additional details if needed, I"m not quite sure what would be relevant so I don't want to pack this post full of potentially useless information. Thanks.

This is how I've installed HR patch 4.1.8 on top of MM 2.45:

1. Install MM as before.
2. Download official F2 patch 1.02d; unpack it, grab unpacked fallout2.exe and put it in your Fallout2 installation directory.
3. Download and install HR 4.1.8

Note that there is old F2 background artwork for the main menu packed in f2_res.dat, so if you don't want that sweet MM background artwork replaced with it, make sure ART\INTRFACE\HR_MAINMENU.FRM from f2_res.dat wont be loaded. This is purely cosmetical though, won't affect any functionality of MM at all.
