Help needed: giving the Fallout world map a Fallout feel

Look, Ma! Two Heads!
Hey guys.

I recently began working towards modding Fallout 2. One of the things I would like to mod is the world map.

In MIB's megamod I could see that the map size is 56 tiles (7x8). I do know how to change the number of horizontal tiles in the map (no idea about diagonal lines, I do wonder how MIB changed that.), so I compiled a 10x8 1:1 ratio world map of the intended region to be used in the modded game.

Anyway, my problem is that I don't know how to make the map feel more like Fallout, graphically.

These are the links to the BMP map file

https://ufile.io/1kdhp - a 1 to 1 ratio, 10x8 tiles. (1 BMP file)

https://ufile.io/ou87f - a 2 to 1 ratio 10x8 tiles. (1 BMP file)

Could someone help me with it, please? In the off chance that a mod will ever be published, I would of course credit you for the map. Thanks.

Regards,

Tzur Kanfer

In all my years around here, the only one who could pull off a good worldmap was pixote.

In any case, you should probably focus on everything else first, though. I know it's easy to lose yourself in graphics, because in worst case, it's the easiest things to do... while it really belongs to the things you should do last.

Is the nevada worldmap creator around here on NMA? :>

Thanks for replying.
I did btw tried to use the Nevada map. Unfortunately, it's too small for me, but I did get some ideas of it:)
