Help on locations

Vault Buster

First time out of the vault
Me and my brother have been wondering about the locations in Fallout New Vegas, including the DLC. So far, all I know is that The Divide is north of the Mojave, the Sierra Madre is in Mexico (I think), and Zion Valley is in Utah. I need to know the locations on the map where the two places that you can bomb at the end of Lonesome Road, and finally where Big Mt. is. So far my brother thinks Navarro is one of the last locations you go to in Lonesome Road before encountering Ulysses but I'm not sure. So could someone help me pinpoint the locations on the map so I can develop an idea where these locations may be at? I would surely appreciate it.

....except it doesn't, and that map has Van Buren locations, and the other is a crude map Chance made...so no that is of no help. Nothing on the wiki says where the Madre is explicitly and the mountain range traverses the borders of two countries. The wiki is a fine reference tool, just not helpful in this case.

That being said; one can infer that it is probably in the US south-west due to Sinclairs' connections to Big Mountain (and its connection to Hopesville/Ashton the Divide) which are indeed located in the US south-west. If you want Vault Buster, you can scroll through J.E. Sawyers' fromspring account. Or ask him yourself. That would be my best bet because I'm sure someone probably asked him a similar question at some point.

I am talking about the other questions he asked like the locations of the Legion Camps and the I15. It also gives a brief overview of the itmeline so it's usefull for coming up with ideas for the setting which is what he is interested in.

As far as I know, none of these places has been canonically pinpointed on a map (except the named pre-war parks in Utah), so you could only sort of handwave in their general direction, at best. Ground Zero on the Long 15 is, of course, going to fall somewhere on Interstate 15 between Califonia and Vegas, which should be easy enough to ballpark with Google. Dry Wells is, according to The Vault wiki, south along the Colorado river, in Arizona, which would makes sense considering the direction of the Legion's push and the location of the boat you take to reach it. Big Mountain and the Sierra Madre purposely had their locations left unspecified.

You can safely bet that Navarro isn't anywhere in or near The Divide, though. The Divide was a pass through the mountains between California and Nevada, and Navarro is far to the north of there, not to mention being on literally the opposite edge of California, on the coast. Maybe your brother was confused by Ulysses saying the package that woke up the Divide came from Navarro. He also says that Navaro is far, far to the west during that same dialogue, though.

With some in-game sleuthing you could probably go pretty far towards picking out the stretch of highway that comprises the whole of Lonesome Road. We know it's one of two major arteries between central California and the Mojave in Nevada. I'd do it myself, if my computer hadn't blown up. There's even a real Ashton near the CA/NV border, though whether it's the one depicted in the game is uncertain. In real life it's a ghost town, so they could have just borrowed the name as a nod.
