HELP REQUIRED, extremely poor performance in Fallout 2

Replaying Fallout 2 with a fresh install and latest Restoration Mod, and for some reason the performance is god awful. Everything loads really slow, the framerate is bad and gameplay is laggy. What's the reason for this?

Could be a lot of reasons. Try vanilla F2 first, see if it performs the same.

It might help to set SingleCore=0 in ddraw.ini, If I don't do this, it runs unbearably slow (and mouse pointer stutters) for me (on Linux with wine that is).
