Help with making mod

Ziggy Stardust

Space Alien
I have little programming experience. I have never made a mod before. In fact, I can do little besides download them. But there is one thing I do have. A dream.
For a game that notorious for your ability to play through it the way you want to, it has surprisingly little customization for your character's model, even with the Restoration Project activated. Really for guys all we have long hair, short hair, and bald. And for women there’s just a couple colors. This is where we come in.
My idea is that instead of the two very broad categories: race and style: one of which doesn’t even fucking do anything: we have more changeable things: Race, Hair Style, Hair Color, and maybe even body type, though that last ones compromisable. I just don’t know how to make these models and script their customization. This is not a mod request... it is something I would like to do independently. I just need help figuring out how to do everything.

You will have to make critter sprites for every such variation, which means editing tens of thousands of images. It's not hard, but incredibly tedious. If that weren't the case, someone would have done it already. The alternative way is to make completely new 3d models and animations and then rendering the thousands of images with a software of your choice. But again, if it were that easy, someone would have done it already. Not even the Olympus mod has done this, and they created completely new models.

Let’s look at progress. According to Bon Jovi, we’re already halfway there.

The idea of an inexperienced teenager trying to take on a ridiculous challenge that nobody succeeded in before seems very... fallouty
