Heroic bloodshed films

Back in 1980-and early 1990 era, Hong Kong produced many good and memorable film.

They don't do this kinda movie anymore, not even hollywood...

Hah, I've watched A Better Tomorrow 1 and 2 and the Killer until my eyes bled. Other Heroic Bloodshed films less so (the genre does get a tad repetitive after a while). Funny how many heroic bloodshed films there are in the top-100 most body count films of all time.

Classic stuff how they could get away with the rather hard-to-believe number of deaths and violence. All in the style, baby. Hollywood ain't got shit on that.

I don't usually get to watch movies... But I first ran into Chow Yun Fat in The Replacement Killers in '98. I was floored by how he pulled the shooting scenes off. A lot of actors try the two pistol shooting rampage bit and don't quite pull it off. Chow Yun Fat pulls it off so well you almost think it was a security video footage.

Even when he does some stupid quirky Hollywood piece of crap like say Bulletproof Monk he's still pretty damn cool.
I havn't watched Hard Boiled in years, and I'm looking forward to getting them.
Replacement Killers was another amazing flick.
I miss Hong Kong action movies. Still loving stuff like Kung Fu Hustle and such but miss those older actioners.
