I always play MDK with kb/mouse it works very well that way.

All 90's Shiny games had this special character to them.

There is a sequel to MDK that is well worth checking out, it wasn't as well received as its predecessor but I enjoyed it very much.

This time around you get to play as Kurt Hectic, Max the dog and professor Hawkins who all have their own abilities.

This game has (great) voice acting, a more fleshed out story and a more advanced engine. There is also a faithful remake of the second game if you want HD graphics and want to use a modern controller :)

You "should" also check out Sacrifice if you haven't already. It's a surreal "strategy game" that allows the player to take different paths (work for different deities) between missions.
You control your character and your "units" on the battlefield (3rd person camera) so you are always in the middle of the action instead of high above the battlefield like in traditional RTS games.

This game looked gorgeous and has aged quite gracefully. It still has an active multiplayer community.

Then there's Messiah, an ambitious SF game that lets you possess your enemies. This one might be a little more difficult to get into for newcomers.

I haven't played their PS only games or their newer titles. (The Matrix meh)
