Holiday Thread

Ok, folks, what are your plans for the Holidays.

I am traveling tomorrow to see the wife's family in Brazil, get a tan and get away from civilization.

And best wishes to all of you for the holidays.

Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukah, Kick ass Kwanzaa and the Best of New Years.

Holidays are the same old same old - Christmas at my mom's, New Years at my girlfriend's (though, can't drink...). Her family has a huge bash with lots of people.

Jan 9th - 16th I'm going to Disney/Florida with 4 of my friends. Should be kickass way to end winter break.

Sitting here, programming and playing Ultima Online, which actually is the one thing that reminds me of that feeling I used to get the one Christmas when I first played Ultima Online. It's a cherished childhood memory.

I'll visit my parents and other relatives on Christmas and I'll probably do the same on New Year's Day. That way I don't have to cook for myself -- which is always a nice thing.

I'm not certain yet what I'll be doing on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, but I hope to spend those with my girlfriend. Maybe go out for some drinks on New Year's Eve, I'll see.

Ah well. Enjoy the trip to Brazil, Welsh!

I'll be cramming history, mostly. I've got examns on the History of Philosophy, history of Literature, history of Art, historical criticism and Modern & Present day history the end of January.

And believe you me, that's a damn lot of cramming. More than I'll have to do the second term, actually.

However, I'll prolly go party a few hours on new year's eve.

Luckily I will finish studding, then I'll have christmas with my family, then I'll go to enjoy playing golf (is has been a while), get a tan after finishing nine holes and possibly 18 (you can get a real tan after spending some serious hours under the golf curse sun). Have in mind that is summer here in the south side of the world, so I will go to the pool to swim and show my physique to the ladies. 8) Then I'll enjoy a New Year party with my family again and then I can go back to golf for about another two months.

Oh, And I'll have to make a li'l more studding too. :x Got a final in March

I'm going to Egypt with my family on the 18th for two weeks, and we depart so early that that time of day should be forbidden.

I'll start playing Star Wars Galaxies and (hopefully) Vampire: Bloodlines as of next Saturday. I'll be going to my hometown Pakrac on 24th or 25th. I'll bring my laptop along, because I want to play some games (hopefully finally beat Gothic 2) and start working on some projects (I must write three simulations of a formal Turing machine in a language of my choosing, which is a pain). I'll probably be back by New Year's Day. After that, I'll probably be studying automata and compiler design like a madman and reading some books about C# and RISC/CISC architecture in my "free" time. With all that shit, I'll have little time for something pleasant, like that brand new copy of Silmarillion sitting on the shelf, waiting for me to read it.

Winter holidays suck when you're a student. Summer holidays are generally much better.

Drinking egg-nog with the family back home in Virginia. Most likely worrying about my schoolwork the entire time as well.

Holidays? I only got a long (three days) weekend.

I can't take a single day off until February.

Most of the time i`ll be doing a paper on neo-cons, ethics and normativism and starting another one on Condoleeza Rice and Feminism. I`ll be playing HL2 and probably some Vampires, this one in a couple of weeks, reading books on sociology, cultural diferences and clashes, feminism and research methologies in social sciences. Not exciting, really...

Oh and i`ll try to spend a couple of days in my hometown, near the snowy mountains, so i can get terribly bored and make the other stuff i have to do seem like more interesting stuff to do on a vacation.

During new years eve i`ll probably leave the computer on, as i normally do, play around with my kid and wife, drinking champagne and sometimes going to #fallout screaming happy new year with uncovincing enthusiasm.woot.blah...

Actually, I should be studying right now for my finals. (I’ve had 2 out of 5 already. Didn’t do well at all. I need to pass the second one because it's a prerequisite for everything in my second year and I'm fucked without it.)

I'm going to study, sure, but not as much as I should because I hate College and just want this horrible semester to be over.

Being a grad student, I have no finals. Ha ha!

I'm going to spend break sleeping, drinking and trying to put together a forum for my fraternity, like I said I'd do last April.

Then I'll get back to school around the new year to write an abstract for a June conference. oi.

Busy Time

Busy Time

Variety of attrition on the shift this year, so don't expect to see a two day weekend until January. If all goes as planned, no 10 hour or more days, no 7th day V. time. Anticipate, 6th day, overtime offered even after the New Year.

Have just enough seniority that I didn't look to see who volunteered and who was delegated for the Holidays. Still need to check the posting.
Don't cry if I'm selected, it's double time, and a lazy, skeleton crew pace compared to a regular day. As long as all goes well.

Otherwise.

Will sleep in, and show up at some friend's place later in the day.
