Movies below are not necessarilly horrors, but suspense and uneasyness is plentifull.

Body horror - pretty much anything from Cronenberg - Videodrome, Dead Ringers; Naked Lunch is WTF movie if I have ever seen one. Weirdness makes up for luck of horror, movies that can make you dizzy.

Different kind of body horror - or anything - movies by Takashi Miike.
Ichi the Killer (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0296042) was one of the nastiest movies I have ever seen - really testing your boundaries. Audition (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0235198) is maybe even worse on that .

Animal Attacks - Roar (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0083001/) - idealistic propaganda movie about animal rights from animal lover Tippi Hedren and her daughter Melanie Griffith that turns into most suspenseful thriller - not because of scenario, but because of conditions on shooting. Hedren and Griffith lived with bunch of wild animals, and in this movie they are working at closest range with wild, untamed lions and other great cats to show how they are noble creatures. Most of the crew got serious injuries, some got bitten or scalped by lions etc. Surreal.

Don't know in which of your category to put next movies, but they are postapocalyptic - so maybe Down to Earth?
Day After (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0085404/) and Threads (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0090163). 80's try at realistic depiction of effects of nuclear war. Frightening, like all warning movies. As a child could not sleep for days after watching this. Threads is especially fucked up.
The Road was soul crushing movie, post-apocalypse at its worst; probably seen by everyone, but must see.

Adding them all to the list of to watch except Videodrome which I've seen so I'll add it to the list proper and Roar which I'll put in the unverified list but won't watch myself because real life animal attacks on humans freak me out. I think it's the monkey brain part of me that just rejects wanting to witness animal attacks of things like lions and shit.

Man it's gonna take a while to get through all of these films. :o

Just added Sator to Demons and The Tunnel 2011 to Found Footage.
Both were decent films, nothing groundbreaking or anything. Sator is weird though because whenever they go over to his grandmas house the video crop changes to that of old TV's and goes black and white, almost like a documentary.

Just watched Ringu (original Japanese "The Ring").
And yeah I'm not gonna put it on the list proper. The film is a 4.5/10 for me. It would be completely average if it wasn't for some really bad acting at parts where actors overacted like crazy. Not a fan of the characters either as for a film that is so heavily focused on 2 characters it did barely anything to develop upon these characters and I just felt emotionally detached from them. Also, for a horror film it's lacking in horror. Be it shock scares, suspense, discomfort, dread, fear of the unknown and so on. A film doesn't even have to have "horror" in it, just explore a concept that is deeply uncomfortable or unsettling. But the concept in itself I just can't really take seriously. It's like two japanese students for their japanese writing class has to write a short story so they want to write a horror story that isn't too shocking for their teacher to disqualify it so they just kinda spitball in one afternoon this concept of a cursed video tape and shit. And I guess that's the big divider, will you be able to take the concept of The Ring seriously? I tried giving it a fair chance, I wasn't sitting down to hate on it but I just couldn't get behind it.

So yeah, is it a favorite of someone else? Should I put it in "Others Greatest Hits"? Cause I really don't think this film is anything special.
 
Thing is if it Isint jumpscares then its probably some shitty artsy Japanese or french movie which is equivalent to 50 tool music videos. It seems horror is the one thing visuals can't express to others.
 
Has anybody mentioned ' Braindead ' Gore comedy Horror. Eraser Head far out weird Horror.

I do think Color Out of Space with Nick Cage is one of the more disturbing horror movies I have seen in some time. When I just tried to think of something that kinda weirded me out it came to mind along with The Witch again. Antlers was just...boring.
 
I remember when me youngest and his GF called up he asked "can I throw this DVD on dad? " I said " I've SAW that "



I had seen SAW 1 and 2, so I made them watch Braindead

Ya know that Evil Dead remake was not really bad like at all unless you wanted some kind of Ash replacement which lets be real the actor (Bruce) is kinda one note - you can see that in the series.
 
The movies Bone Tomahawk and Ravenous both take place in the old west. Definitely horror movies with a lack of jumpscares. If you haven't seen either of them they're quite awesome. You don't need to be a fan of westerns to see them but I suppose it would help.
 
I had started to watch a Vin Diesel. 'The last Witch Hunter' last night but ended up logging in here.
I had missed a few minutes at the start so I will catch it again. It reminded me a bit of Vampire T M Bloodlines, but I never knew which witch was which.
