Can you make your home anywhere? Or will items disapear after a while if you dont put them in certain houses?
Any tips on good houses to use?

Any of the shacks are good, but I prefer 'Prospector Camp' it's the one with the abandoned dog there

Some people use Victor's shack at the start of a playthrough as it has some decent free loot inside and he never uses it so you can essentially call it home.
Also the shack near the big cross outside Goodsprings is a pretty good place apart from the Radscorpions who tend to spawn near it.

I use Easy Pete's house, though Victor's shack is also pretty nice.

I just use the Abandoned BoS Bunker and the crate inside the Northern Passage to store my loot.

You need a luxurious bed to gain the +10% exp bonus, right? isnt there a house that has such a bed and reloading bench too?
    Thanks for the tips anyways.

No. The bed needs to be rented or owned to get the +10% Bonus.

I sleep on a bedroll anywhere outside, and store all my stuff on my trusty pack brahmin.

I used Wolfhorn Ranch, I mean it has plants and caravanas pass near it sometimes, that was until the last patch, so now Legion Assassins appear there all the time, I shouldn't have killed Caesar I guess.

I would love to use the room you win in Ultra Luxe, but since it takes too much time to get there, I use the Brotherhood Safehouse, don't know why though.

Hm, is there a list of rooms with bed that you can rent/buy/own? Those 10% exp are pretty good.

    Ownable housing:

Dino Dee-lite motel room in Novac
If the player has a reputation of Accepted with Novac, the key can be obtained for free from either Jeannie May Crawford (if she's still alive) or Cliff Briscoe at the Dino Bite gift shop (if she's dead). It has numerous safe containers, but irradiated water.

Lucky 38 presidential suite and a penthouse in the Lucky 38 casino
Given to the player by Robert House after the first time you've spoken to him. This is the only place companions can be sent to specifically aside from their home locations. The Lucky 38 presidential suite is spacious, but has an ominous atmosphere shared with the rest of the Lucky 38.

The Tops presidential suite in The Tops
The player needs to complete the quest Ring-a-Ding-Ding!
There is also a High-Roller suite available if the player earns enough chips at the casino. Entering the room will complete the unmarked quest Big Winner, The Tops. The Tops presidential Suite has the best and most lively location, in the center of the strip.

Bon Vivant Suite in the Ultra-Luxe
The Bon Vivant Suite is won if the player wins 11,250 chips at the Ultra-Luxe Casino. The room is located among the other Ultra-Luxe Hotel Rooms and is similar to them in appearance. The room contains two beds, as well as two wardrobes and a suitcase for containers, a small bathroom and a toilet and sink with zero rads. The containers will not reset, and are 'safe', but remain marked red for stealing, as do all items within the suite.
This is not to be confused with the Ultra-Luxe Penthouse located in the short hallway behind the reception desk. Although the Penthouse is considered very large and fancy, and although a key may be found from Mortimer, it is not possible to sleep there and all containers are marked as stealing. It is guarded by two men who may become hostile if they see you. It is not possible to gain ownership of the Penthouse except through modding or console commands.

    Brotherhood of Steel safehouse
The current Elder will give you the key upon completion of Still in the Dark. It has a Reloading Bench, a workbench and a Brotherhood of Steel Guard/Repairman named Paladin Sato.

    Followers of the Apocalypse safehouse
The key will be given to you by Julie Farkas once you have gained an 'Idolized' reputation with the Followers of the Apocalypse and accepted her offer to join them. It holds one of the four copies of the D.C. Journal of Internal Medicine. The fridges are constantly restocked with food and thus not safe storage.

    Caesar's Legion safehouse
The key is given by Lucius with a reputation of Liked with the Legion. It is visited by a Legion officer who will occasionally give items related to stealth, most notably Stealth Boys. In addition, you can find on the 3 beds: Centurion armor and a chainsaw, Praetorian guard armor with 2 Time bombs and the unique lucky shades, and on the final bed is a sniper rifle with another set of Legion armor.

    Atomic Wrangler corner room
The player needs to complete the quest Debt Collector or kill Caleb McCaffery. Has no safe storage containers regardless of how the key is earned.

    NCR Ranger safehouse
It is at southeast from Junction 15 Railway. Deathclaws gather nearby, so be careful on the first approach. Colonel James Hsu at Camp McCarran gives the player the key with a reputation of Liked with the NCR.

    The Sink
It is only available upon completion of Old World Blues. Companions must be dismissed before the player can enter, but it can essentially be fast travelled to, even if the player is over-encumbered. When fully upgraded, it contains a workbench, Reloading bench, Electric hot plate and Auto-Doc. There is also a shop.

I like to use the one Heck Gundersson has at the Ultra Luxe, even though the only good thing about it is the size and style. Can't remember if you can even use the beds there.

I always use one of the abandonend caravan trucks in Goodsprings all the time. Yeah I know it's PlayPretend, but it felt really nice living in there like a bum on early, "weak" levels. It was incredibly funny when eventually the event was triggered, that the guy collecting the Sunset Sarsaparilla Caps appeared and couldn't walk in there so he talked through a wall with me.

At lower level, I used Easy Pete's house as it provide the basic equipment for storing weapon, apparel and weaponry. It also have bed and located near to fast travel location.

When I'm reaching 15+, Novac's Dee Lite was my main safehouse. A pleasant neighbourhood surrounding, storing boxes and bed. Only cost me 100 caps.

My last safehouse is Benny's Top Suite Presidential Suite. Yep, I have to go through like 4 loading cell, but I really like walk around The Strip, and the suite is really make me felt the world is my oyster. Lucky 38 didn't cut for me...it's too grimy. The other casino like Ultra Luxe is better, but they confiscated my weapons.

Dino deelite is my absolute favorite.

Armor in a dresser, non armor clothing in wardrobe. Guns in one cabinet laser and "big" guns and explosives in the safe, and melee in the footlocker. Aid items in one dresser and misc items in the desk near the front door. It's a 10 second walk from the fast travel point as well.

I've unlocked just about all of the ownable housing but mostly I just use The Sink now because it's so convenient and I let my companions crash at the 38 without me. no more stealing my nuka colas, you bastards!
