How did you get your nick?

Well well, another Masquerade player. That's where I got mine. I used to wear all white leather, and bleached my hair bone white. Sooo... you get the picture.

Yeah, I was a LARP dork, SCA member.

I also kept it for my stage name. It fits my personality really well too.

Mine is my real middle name slightly altered to make it appear slightly East European as I've been told I look kind of Slavic, especially when I user to wear my old fur lined Russian border guards hat when in winter.

At first i thought you just took my name. Now i see you actually want to BE me!

Well, at first i was Mr. Set, short for Settler. Settlers2 was one of my favorite strategy games.

KQX just came from my mouse pad: WKQX Chicago Q101 101FM....my favorite radio station.

My Current name derives from the Lord Of The Rings (read it in gradeschool and highschool before you accuse me of getting it from the movies)

I used to be Dark Priest, Stemming from me always wearing black and carrying a satanic bible and a copy of the Necronomicon around school (to annoy church yuppies who'd try to convert me, and to generally scare the rest of the people, have a few interesting stories but wont share them.)

Before that i was Sword or Blade depending on where i was posting but that was a LONG time ago.

I've allready explained the reason for my nick in the 'look at our origin' topic, Ozrat here posted a link to.

Well, at least I'm not the craziest one around here!

I don't suppose you were playing the role of drunk college kid at the time?

I'm still playing the role of the college kid, although I'm pretty far under the minimum drinking age to be legally drunk.

As far as being illegally drunk goes, no comment.

I can't stop wondering, how is it possible that the minimum army enlisting age is lower than the minimum drinking age...

eh...

People around here start drinking at the age of 12.

My name is my name.

Why do these thread keep on coming back?

because people cant be bothered to look on other pages find the old thread and bump it.

It's the same age in some parts of Canada. (Quebec and Alberta, specifically)

In Canada the drinking age is either 18 or 19, depending on which providence you're in.

The States, however, have a universal drinking age of 21. Technically the states have the power to choose their own legal drinking age, but if they choose to make it lower than 21 the Federal Gov't basically blackmails them into changing it back by withholding their federal highway funds.

But yeah, drinking normally starts anywhere between 12 to 16 IMHO.

In Brazil the drinking age is 18.

As for my nick, it's a greek name. I liked the meaning and the sound of it, so... :)

In Sweden the drinking age is 18 on clubs n' pubs but 20 if you want to buy alcohol from "Systembolaget" (the state monopoly liquor store). Pretty darn stupid with those split limits if you ask me.

Anyway, I started using this nick in the early ninetys on IRC. I got it from some book about Celtic mythology, 'Myrrdin' is the Celtic name for 'Merlin'. I think I might be one of the first to use this nick on the net...

The drinking age in east Poland is sometimes below 10 years... Just the same with smoking, so you guys have nothing to be proud of :P (anyway, I'm a bit older and i'm not planning to start drinking yet).
My nick isn't, as you can think, from the Lord of the Rings (there it was a country (?)), but from a greatest s/f written I know novel. There it was a name of a guy who showed a lot of sacrifice and mental power to save the rescue team... But I wont tell uou all that - read it! Stanislaw Lem "Invincible" or sth like that.
The other reason was that all my mates had some cool nicks, so I had to find one for me.

I'm Polish too, you know. And you don't have to go to Bialystok or deep in the Bieszczady mountains to see alcoholic kids. The point I was trying to make is that I've noticed that drinking and smoking is much more popular here than it is in other places I've been, as far as GRADE school goes. :)

Anyway, my nick was explained in a similar thread a while back. I think somebody posted the link somewhere...

Kill me if I know. Must have adopted it under the impression of an article on supressors I had read. And because "Lenin" is already taken on numerous fora :D

Sure I do. My mother gave me my *name*. As for the nickname I adopted , I can't make up my mind what exactly made me type in the improper name for a supressor as my login
