About adding: need some more experience.
TIP:
Make copie(s) from basic FO2 install with killaps patch. Dont use the f2patchv1.02d, because this includes a patch.
If something go wrong you not need to install it all again.
The way i do it:
...Program Files\Black Isle\Fallout2 as original fallout for register keys and eventually hotkey to start F2.
...Program Files\Black Isle\Fallout2Temp
Just delete the Fallout2 folder and copy and rename Fallout2TEMP folder.
So you always have the basis Fallout2 and your register is not messed up
