How Long Has It Been Since You Last Played...

How long as it been since you last played Fallout, 1 or 2?

For me I would say it has been a week, maybe two. But before that, I had recently picked up the collectors pack, so before that I would say about 3 years, maybe 4.

4 months. Took a Fallout break after i made a backup restoration of my hdd and i can't get myself to play right now.

Technically, a few weeks. But it was little more than showing my friend how he should use some skills etc. since he is new to the game.

Other than that...man, more than a year. Actually, now that I think about that, this last year has been pretty dry for me when it comes to playing, let alone completing games.

I will admit I'm over playing Fallout, but understand I've been making mods and testing the game regularly for 5 years now, so after 100 plays I feel I need a break. But saying that I still love to boot it up and fight random battles...that's one factor about Fallout, especially F2, I love, the random encounters, and sometimes I just sit back and watch 2 parties destroy each other.

It would be fun to see Deathclaws fighting Aliens occasionally. 8-)

I can understand wanting to take a break from it, but quitting Fallout permanently I could never do.

Few days ago. Had to get a quick fix.

Pixote...that makes me sad.

I'm in the same boat as Pixote, perhaps worse. But that's what 8 years of modding it will do. Someday though, I'll get a full play through in again.

But, my situation shouldn't stop you all from play-testing the latest RP! ;)

Finished Tactics for seocnd (or third time I`m not quite sure) last spring. I love this game as much as F1 and F2 and been playing it many times since 2001.

Early last year I've replayed Fallout 1. I haven't played the game since 3 or 4 years before, because I was so busy with Fo2 modding. It was a super great experience. I had forgotten many details from the game, like the random encounters, some quest details and how the maps looked like, etc. It was a tiny, tiny, tiny little bit as if I haven't played the game yet. But it also showed me once again that Fo1 for me is so much above Fo2...

You go, girl! Or, to put it less slapsticky: Amen, brotha'!

The last time I played any of the classic 3 (gotta include FOT, that mystical beast, that) was 5-6 months ago, and it was FO2 using the then-latest release of killap's RP, 2.1.2b. My situation bears some similarities to Makta's; I had to do two full system reformats and reinstallations, and while FO2 + RP2.1.2b were among the first things I put back on my system (the first time), I was still having issues with software conflicts that were causing the game to slow down, which I couldn't handle. Since I've yet to fully purge the entirety of the issues from my PC, I've yet to return to the game, despite dreaming about doing so on a very regular basis.

You guys would seriously include Fallout Tactics as a Fallout "classic"? That game doesn't even deserve to bear the Fallout title.

So when are you going to come out with a new patch man? Its been nearly 3 years since you've last updated your patches. They helped me out alot in terms of removing the bugs which originally would have pissed me off during a play through.

There are still tons of bugs to fix and things to do with Fallout. Thats the great thing about Fallout 1 and 2. The universe and game engine makes it have infinite possibilities, especially when modding.

Hey Killap. Since your done modding Fallout 2 maybe you can start on the Fallout 1 Restoration Project. I am sure many people would love you for it, including me.

By the way. I have always wanted to ask. What the hell is madd-net.net?

Clearly you haven't been looking at the modding forum here. 8-)

Haha, yeah. Well, that's more what Sduibek is doing. Look to him for that.

It used to be madd.net until MADD (Mother's Against Drunk Driving) contacted my brother long ago. We had that domain before they even had an online presence. His nickname was MADDoc, a nod toward M.A.D. from Inspector Gadget from the 80's. We still wanted to stick with the name, so we just added a '-net' to it.

So how did they get you to change it legally? Or did you just do it anyways to avoid legal matters.

So madd-net.net is basically a hosting site owned by you and your brother?

Yeah, you're right there. I havent visited the modding jarn since I have been here. Since I have been here I stick to the General Fallout Discussion and 100 RPGs an hour. Although I would like to join the Order, but I don't think they'd take me. I am going to wait until I have at least 300 or so posts before even submitting an app to join the Order.

It does more so than Fallout 3.

We didn't really want to fight the legal battle, so we just gave it up. Though we did waste some money on a lawyer during this ordeal.

It's just the domain we own. I mean, you could potentially own something like bigboss.net yourself.

Also I did mention before that I too enjoyed Tactics. Not because of it as a Fallout game, but because of it as an enjoyable, squad-based tactical rpg. If you look at it like that, it really isn't a bad game.

Yeah I can understand people enjoying it if you don't look at it as a Fallout game.

However, when I played it, I couldn't enjoy it as a Fallout game or a tactical rpg game. I don't know why... I just could not get into it. I hated every minute of it.

also, which Fallout game did you like better? Fallout 1 or 2? I loved both of them, they were both legendary to me. However Fallout 1 became my favorite.
