How many Fallout 3 modders are on this forum?

Hello all,

I would like to know how many people who make modifications for Fallout 3 visit this forum.

I am not immediately going to say that I am going to make a mod for Fallout 3 but it would be nice to have a list of NMA members who are capable of working with the GECK tool kit.

If you respond, please include what fields you have knowledge of.

I know a bit of everything, but that's it. Not doing much Fallout 3 modding anymore. :p

Maybe with New Vegas release, I might want to make one or two mods.

I can mod. I guess I am sort of like MrLexx because I can do a little bit of Everything. But I am not so good in the actual model or texture creation .

Ah, interesting, any modelers also perhaps around?
I dont have much skill with blender, but I am a decent hand at adding, moving and reshaping bits in nifskope.
I can also find my way around texturing.

What do you have in mind?

Sorry for resurrecting this dead old topic but I want to ask, have there been any new modders since the topic went 'silent'?

Also are the old modders that responded still active?

I know my way around 3ds Maxq though I mostly do some 2d stuff. I've done some minor visual tweaks to improve my game, but I've not released anything so far.
Currently working on:
-Improved securitron screens. Victor looked a lot better in that first teaser trailer of the game.
-Cleaner texture for the T-45d Power Armor.
- A bowler hat. I have no idea how I'd put that in the game but... we'd see if I finish it.
- A GECK project that would bring the Golden Globes Porn studio to Freeside. Probably not going to finish it, but it's great practice for a GECK noob like me.
- My very own Sunset Sarsassparila poster. This one is just to see if I can mimic the art style of the original posters seen in the game.
I probably won't finish any of these, but who knows...

I'm pretty much a noob at GECK itself, but i'm learning my way around it pretty quickly and i have experience with the NWN toolset. I do a lot of amateur writing, short stories, attempts at novellas, so i like to think i'm more capable than Bethesda(not hard) at writing dialogue and designing area's that make sense. Currently writing a little design document/primer for a Poseidon Energy lab.

I'm currently working on my own worldspace and I'm going to add some quests there (currently using retextured and normal NV meshes as I can't figure out how in hell I can get my guns and models in game).

(PB seems to hate my 1920x1080 pictures .__.)

Spent a full day learning GECK and making that first destroyed area (+retextured that plane and made it a new model).

EDIT: So yea I can use GECK to add new stuff and change stuff, but I don't know how to script. I also can make new textures and edit existing models, but can't create anything from scratch.

I have this idea for an expansion mod/additional land to the FNV region but I first need to write down a worked out document detailing locations, possible quests, NPCs, critters and what graphic assets can be re used and what new ones need to be made.

There would be a lot of scripting involved as well as complete new material that would have to be made.

I am asking around for modders here on the forum for when I want to recruit people to help me.

I also really should learn how to use the GECK set so I can make a prototype location.

Are there also any people here capable of making new models?

I am for example interested in a model for a humanoid brain bot.

I am thinking something along the concept of this robot from "Mars Attacks".

I hope the mods will not mind me using this topic for this but I would like to get in touch with modders who are working or have worked on making locations for Fallout New Vegas.

I want to learn how to use the GECK dev kit.
I have already discovered the GECK wiki but I would like to correspond with someone who is working with it.

I'm fairly adept at modifying the existing content (lvled list, vendor lists, weapons, armor stats etc.) Never really tried my hand at scripting, but I'm a quick learner. I could probably model if I were given a quick walkthrough, so I could probably work as a level builder.

Are there anymore people here who are into modding?
I myself want to learn to use the GECK dev kit during Christmas so I can make a demonstration location to show that I am serious about this.

I would love to meet some fellow Fallout enthusiasts that are also into writing, perhaps people who play PnP sessions and make their own campaigns.

Not meant insulting but preferably people who have played Fallout 1, 2, perhaps Tactics, and know of Van Buren, and not just Fallout 3 and the DLCs.
FOBOS/FOPOS is optional but no necessary.

Best thing really is to start simple. Read the GECK tutorials on the bethsoft wiki and do lots of try&error. There are also many tutorials from Olbivion, which are still kind of valid for FNV.

Using the GECK is really not that hard, if you don't plan to start with some huge quest mod.

I just want to make a concept location like you suggested Lexx, a simple town or several houses along a street.
No NPCs or quests whatsoever.
