one thing i hate about rpgs in general is the total inability to end combat through dialog once fighting has started. basically, once the first gun is fired, one of you is going to die. obviously, for an inexperienced character, this will be true - but for those with greater speech skills, one might think that, instead of throwing a punch, one could instead take an option to try and get a dialog box going, costing two aps or something. then, you wouldnt have to deal with having all of freakin' Vault City against you based on a "simple misunderstanding." this would also give so much more depth to NPC's, making them slightly more than dice-throwing killing machines.
