Modders already fixed immortal kids, mortal caravan merchants and crappy power armors even without the "geck" but I doubt they'll rewrite entire storyline. I finished this abomination once and maybe will play it a year later again with patches, addons and mods but only if nothing better will be aviable. Only hope for real fallout is Betsoft nuked into oblivion...

Assuming that any of the people who are obsessed with HL cross over from there, you'd be dead wrong. For that matter, the Fallout modders are no slouches themselves. With a proper kit and the expanded modding base, you'd be surprised.

I beat the game without attacking or killing anyone or anything besides the tutorial roach. All it took was getting Sergeant RL-3 (later Fawkes) to be a bulletshield, Science and Speech skills, and many reloads when those bullet shields died.
