Vault Senior Citizen
1. Is there any chickens or pigs left?
Not the chicken in modoc though :)
2. Fo2's ranger combat armor and NV's ranger trail armor is same thing?
3. What is staple food of core region? there's no bread?
4. Great salt water that sulik said was great salt lake or sea?

1. Is there any chickens or pigs left?

Probably, somewhere on the world.

2. Fo2's ranger combat armor and NV's ranger trail armor is same thing?

What exactly do you mean? Fo2 doesn't have a ranger combat armor, only the normal one, which can be found in New Vegas as well (but is not the ranger combat armor).

3. What is staple food of core region? there's no bread?

There probably is. Rule of thumb: Just because you don't see something in the game, doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

4. Great salt water that sulik said was great salt lake or sea?

Probably the west coast / pacific ocean. Unlikely that Sulik was at the Great Salt Lake.

We see lots of farms which, as far as I'm aware, produce wheat? We know for sure the people of post-apocalyptic America eat apples.

For ranger combat armor, maybe I saw something wrong. although it doesn't looks like combat armor but looks like leather armor mkII.
For chicken, lots of people(in fallout) seems to know about chicken.
For pork I just wanted eat porks
For staple food, I found there's little flour in mojave but bunch of corns. although in San Francisco they eat rice for staple food.
to say in detail, what is staple food of NCR( and mojave)?
Thank you for answer though

According to The Vault, the Rangers from Fallout 2 are a different organization than the NCR Rangers, even though they share the same name and place of origin. It wouldn't be unreasonable to theorize that 2's Rangers may have evolved into (or played a hand in the creation of) the rangers we see in New Vegas, but even so, the NCR had forty years between the two games to scavenge and develop new technologies, a time during which their expansion granted them access to both the Sierra Army Depot and the Enclave base at Navarro. In all likelihood, the Ranger Patrol Armor didn't exist until after Fallout 2 and 2's rangers were just wearing plain old (or, by F:NV nomenclature, Reinforced) combat armor.

Who says there isn't bread? Though, there is also a possibility of an excess of corn and beans instead. Cpl. Farber's unmarked quest Not Worth a Hill of Corn and Beans indicates that there's a surplus of these food items coming in from the Core Region.

It's hard to say for certain if that actually is the case, though.

That makes sense.
thank you. :D

Canonically speaking, bread does exist in the core-- The sandwich Mom has you deliver to Smitty in The Den is evidence of this, as well as the pasta Mom serves there and the chocolate chip cookies from Rose's Bed and Breakfast in Modoc, which call for most of the ingredients needed to make bread. The only thing missing would be yeast, which we know exists in the Capitol Wasteland and the Mojave, at least. It wouldn't be much of a stretch to assume they've got it further West. The devs probably just failed to make mention of it because they didn't feel it was relevant enough to call attention to-- same reason you don't see, for instance, gunpowder or spatulas or blue jeans.

The existence of bread and other baked goods would also imply the existence of (unseen) chickens or other fowl, unless they were made using alternate (and far less savory) varieties of egg.

Heh... no problem. Sorry, looks like I was typing up this response as you were replying to the last one.

But the rangers were founded by Seth- from Fallout 1 Shady Sands. That was around 80 years before Fallout 2. I do agree that they most likely have evolved over the years (as everything does), but still they are "the same" rangers.

Especially the New Vegas ranger backstory comes very close to the Texas Rangers of today, so I'll guess at some point in history, the NCR Rangers started to fill their ranks only with elite soldiers from the military and none else anymore.

That dinner was sandwich? I thought it was some kind of egg or something

"It's some kind of salad and a sandwich made out of what you think is Brahmin meat covered in a thick dark yellow sauce. There is also a strange pickled green vegetable on the side."

I had a lot of free time in those days, so I was perhaps a bit overly obsessive with the "look" function. :look:

Huhm. I could've sworn I'd read otherwise, but you're right. Sorry about that. Still different armor, I'd say.

It's a retcon, a good one. The combat armor sprite used in Fallout 2 represents the NCR armor from New Vegas (soldiers) or any of the Ranger armors (say, patrol armor for regulars and veteran for Elise).

In Fallout 1 and 2, all of the farming areas have a lot of mutant corn.

Actually, they're the same group. The differences were cleared up by many NPCs in New Vegas. The Ranger Unification Treaty combined the 2 Ranger forces into a single organization, the end result being the NCR Rangers that we find in FONV. The 2 groups that formed the basis for the current NCR Rangers were the Rangers (the same group as found in FO2) and the Nevada Rangers (the same group Tycho from FO1 belonged to). Lonesome Road also implies that the "standard" uniform for the Elite NCR Rangers was adopted from Riot Gear they scavenged from The Divide, before the incident that tore The Divide apart. This outfit "just so happens" to be identical in appearance to the attire that Tycho was described to be wearing... Just the difference between designing intentions and the final form of the actual lore canon.

The major changes between the Rangers and NCR Rangers from FO2 to FONV, besides their evolution as a result of the Ranger Unification Treaty, is their going from an anti-slaver movement to becoming an assimilated branch of NCR's military. But otherwise, they're still the same group.

Deathclaws eggs. :V Now that I think about it it's weird that there wasn't any bread at all in the game.

Im sure there must be bread... I mean there are crops and farms in many places of the game... It can only be assumed that they are growing wheat, or corn, etc... something to make flour of some sort... just not really needed to be shown i suppose in the game.

=)

And chickens... I never saw one... but I kinda wish I did... radiated chickens would be a fun site!

On topic of mutated chickens...Would probably look like what they described it here.
Problem is, that chicken doesn't affect radition. but it can make CJ very fatty and cure wounds very quickly
