Oh I certainly don't believe that the publishers should be responsible for letting users download them for no cost off their own sites, etc. afterall bandwidth is expensive and distribution is a pain. I just feel that the software, if it has no monitary value anymore should be able to be distributed for free with no royalties or charges of piracy against the distributers/downloaders.
Afterall, what is the point of charging someone with piracy counts when the software has no value anyway? If the publisher is not actively selling the titles, whether on bundle CDs or the like, it should be free. It will encourage companies that don't want to simply give away their software to create old-game bundles like the Fallout 1 and 2 bundle, or simply to let people play the games for free.
