-Wolf-
I didn’t liked this Deeds wanker, didn’t liked him one bit. Sick bastard if I knew one.
After doing all I could for the wounded I went towards Jake. We and I never talked much in this trip but I liked his attitude.
I sat on the ground next to him. My body seemed to weight tons... it’s the problem of growing old in the wasteland. I lighted a ciggie and offered one to Jake, who took it.
“Thanks mate!”
“Why can’t he put a bullet trough his face?” I said to him, pointing to Deeds.
“Big shot, and important to the mission. We gotta stick with him, orders from above mate, nothing we can do about him!” He replied.
I looked at him. He has been nothing but trouble since I joined the group, and the way he paraded around since Kilrick was unconsciousness. And I didn’t like it one bloody bit.
“Say Jake…that accent, were you from?”
“Australia! Heard of it?”
“Sure. My parents came from England, or what’s left of it, anyway.”
My parents. How did I remembered the bastards?
I immediately drifted my thoughts to other things. That woman… Stowe. Who was she? And were did she learned all those medical skills. Where did she got that kind of training, rare in the wastes.
And what bloody secret was she talking about? I knew all about that shit about “need to know basis” but to hide skills like that when it could’ve helped?
Edden showed up and sat next to us, bringing with her food and water.
“Eat, now!” – She said, without the least bit of concern in her voice.
I took the food but refused the water. I had my own drink with me most of the time.
“See you’re feeling better, Sunshine!”- I greeted her, smiling.
“Bah! Still wish we hadn’t pulled out of that bridge so early!” – She replied.
“Yes, I saw you. It seemed you were having fun.” – I said
“Always love to kill a few motherfuckers when I can!” – She answered with a grin.
“Don’t worry, luv’. I bet we’ll get a lot more bleedin chances for you to have fun.”
