I'd get Arcanum, if...

I'd get it if it were a Fallout clone, but I guess you could say I'm narrow minded... I'm not drawn to games that include magick Looking at my library of games not one has any sort of magick.

I bet you guys will have fun with Arcanum.

Well, I don't mind games like that (I loved PS:T) but I don't like being a sourcerer in battle for some reason. I guess it's because you've got too many things to worry about, like clicking the heal potion and running away from your enemies to split them up etc... But they're fun none-the-less.

I have always found low-level sorcery to be tedious and frustrating. Once the charectors are high levels, the game becomes more fun because very little can stand up to your mega charector, but until then something you are doing because you enjoy it can become more of a chore. I hope a game will bridge this gap soon.

So.. DON'T USE MAGIC!

Overpower your local magic fruitcake with raw firepower. After all, if your tech aptitude is high, his magic isn't going to work well on you.
 
i'd thought arcanum would be gay when i heard about all the magical sorcery and other crap but i played the demo and its actually very fun and addicting. i played the demo 2 or 3 times trying to get everything perfect

Well I bought Arcanum yesterday and that game is fun as hell! However I haven't come across too many towns in the game (unlike Fallout where you can just wander into towns you have to find the name of the town and then find someone to point it out on your map)

Besides that it is an awesome game!

Another note:

Unlike PS:T there are no really hurting [font color=red]the masses type spells for Arcanum... :(

Ah, well somehow I got the quench life cast on everyone in my area and all but virgil died, including me :( Dunno how that happened.
