RE: Does FO3 really have to be more realistic? nt

Adv:
Not really, but it would be nice to change SOME elements. Of course, no prob if Black Isle will come up with some non-realistic, yet stylish stuff.

DEBUGR:
Umm... What's the purpose of your undoubtfully glorious story?

Pardon me? I couldn't find any ref to 10mm in this thread.

Yup. I compiled two pictures and put them in Fallout desert background.

RE: I was talking about 10mm ammo.

Well, that person was talking about minigun ammo and in fallout I always have WAY to much 10mm ammo(that's the stuff in that crappy starting pistol, right?)

Anyway, where can i down load wasteland?

and what dso you think of the sectional combat, and the concealing weapons under clothes and all that stuff?

RE: I was talking about 10mm ammo.

In Fallout 2, 10mm can be used with that fastshot H&K SMG, so they are not entirely useless. But I think you're talking about F1... Yup, pretty useless.

Tell me if you didn't find working link.

Look above, my answer was first :) As for concealed weapons... I think if the item is in your inventory, it's concealed. If it's in any of active slots - visible.

How could you fit a suit of metal/power/combat armour in you

How could this be possible?
It violates all laws of physics and stuff.

Anyway, what about a similar combat system to boxing matches, except not an animation. like I said about seven times, what do you think of sectional combat?

Maybe they should make it like in Mad Max Two, where ammo is Bloody rare and they mainly use hand-to-hand weapons and primitive weapons, like crossbows.

Oh yeah, nice pic. Where's the girl from? Wasteland? or leisure suit larry? heh heh.

Actually, I think you can put metal/combat armor in your backpack, but not 4-5 of them, of course. And that is not possible with Power Armor.

Inventory issues like that can only be solved by implementing containers with limited volume and maximum item volume.

This was solved in FOT, the big plus of CTB.

That would limit the use of firearms, and this is not good for Fallout.

Wasteland's "Prostitute".

RE: Ideas that could make fallout 3 more realistic. probably

"Don't have any money. at all, bartering would be much more realistic and believable."

Yep. I've read that .22 caliber ammunition would be the currency of a future post-apoc world. This would be especially great for a Fallout game because it's useful to kill small game (to eat) but you won't be screwed if you run out and you need to kill things since more powerful ammo would be used for that.

"Less of everything, bullets, guns, items, stuff."

Makes sense. I think scarcity would be the complete norm. The game should be more about survival than shaping the world. (Of course, you will though.)

"Breaking armour."

You'll need spare parts from dead corpses to fix it back up again!

"breaking weapons."

How about a JA2 style status percentage. The smaller it is, the more chance of a misfire/accident. Regular maintanance with the repair skill will be necessary.

"Sectional combat, some people in combat, the rest in real-time. But others CAN join if they want to, EG- Police are fighting with a criminal, you can help, blow off the criminals heads and get rewarded, or you can just run away."

Yeah, it's too slow the way it is.

"less people."

Just have the wasteland _seem_ emptier, wide wide expanses of nothing, dead ruins, and the like. Visit some blown out old cities. See crashed vehicles without corpses or people as they are long gone. That kind of thing.

"Make Crap (rad-scorpion tails, sharpened poles, bags ect) not worth anything if you try to sell it."

Maybe some people, such as farmers who don't get out much will need it but a store would throw it back atcha.

"Make some places only buy, some only sell and some buy and sell."

Makes sense, I guess.

"Instead of weight, do carrying with where you put things, EG in your pockets, on your belt, slung over your back and so forth. This wat you could coceal weapons under your coats, jacket or whatever."

Too slow for fun gameplay. Concealed weaps should be a perk. Otherwise, assume the PC knows how to store things!

"Less tech."

Less _working_ fancy tech. As a matter of fact, fancy MP5 weapons and the like should break down far more often than AKs and assault rifles. The energy weapons would be the worst since the tech is newer, less refined, less proven, and manufactured to precise tolerances.

"Anyway, those are some ideas for the game."

Good thinking. Thanks.
