First time out of the vault
Hello Gentlemen! As a fellow lover of fallout (I'm normally a member of The Vault forums, but i hear good things about this place) I was wondering if you would help me with something. Gamespot is currently running a Greatest Sidekick in Video Games Poll and our beloved little fallout mutt Dogmeat is up there. Unfortunately,he's currently going head to head with Mario's Luigi!

But,our ever resilient wandering pup is hanging in there,actually edging out just ahead of Luigi. So if you love Fallout as much as I do, and want our loveable Dogmeat to pull this one out, please follow the link below and vote for him :D

Fallout 3's dogmeat sucks, he's just an invincible dog that stands in your way in combat. FO1/FO2's dogmeat should have been up there.
 
Hell, I haven't had a Dogmeat-3 survive for too long.

The Dog I've been palling around with for the last few years is one of Dogmeat-3's seemingly unending number of puppies. That dog really got around, it seems.

I don't know why you would lug a dog around with you anyway. they can't carry stuff, you can't sneak, and they aren't good at finding non meat things.

The only thing I can see you using a dog for is an Alarm.
 
If I was wandering around the wastes rifling through corpses for spare ammo and murdering bandits constantly, I can see a big psychological benefit to having a companion animal.

Something about Dogmeat in FO1 was really humanizing, and added a lot of depth to the game.

If I was on an adventure I'd much rather have luigi than dogmeat. So I voted for lu. He's losing by 2k votes though :(
