Fallout: New Vegas previews the graphic novel that'll be packed with the New Vegas special edition, and gives us the full cover image.
Avellone described the project to us, saying "'All Roads' showcases all the events that take place a week before Fallout: New Vegas begins through the perspectives of two characters hunting the player. We've structured this from a narrative standpoint and also from an artistic standpoint by having each perspective illustrated by a different artist (Wellinton Alves, Jean Diaz) and by using different color schemes.

"The title showcases the cast, locations in the game (including New Vegas), and provides more backstory on some of the major characters in the game. It leads right up to the opening movie of the game, and provides context for the initial set-up and the motivations for some of the major adversaries in the game."

The full cover looks pretty awesome.

It's too bad that we won't see anything that looks much like it in the game.

And I like bustling metropolises too.

I still say it's too crowded, but I suppose people would be concentrated in a more successful, more better off settlement.

Can't wait to read it.

So you're buying the $80 dollar version or are you using the old-fashioned way of having a dude scan it for ya?

The idea of having two artstyles for two different characters is cool. Makes the character's a bit more unique. However, I hope that this thing isn't a Must-Read in the sense that if you don't, characters won't make any fucking sense.

P.S. Anyone ever have the unpleasant sensation of having a spider crawl on you at 1 A.M. in the morning, making you feel like insects are all over your skin for a few hours? Just happened to me.

It's not like the book alone is $80. The game itself is $60; the book is hardcover, so that's like $20 right there.

Yessssss.

this certainly looks interesting. I might actually end up getting it. I'll just have to convince myself that I'm supporting Obsidian and not Bethesda.

Not entirely the same, but I remember waking up one night and feeling this strange tingle on my arm, as if multiple legs were moving on it.

I shall be honest; I hate spiders, so it is easy to understand that I was quite nervous when I reached out in the dark to see what the source of this sensation was, only to get a "Mrrrrr?" in response when I touched my cat's head.

Apparently she had decided to investigate the exposed arm and the many smells on it, and it were her whiskers I felt on my arm.

But still; dammit! That spooked the hell out of me.

Well, it happened to me a couple of times that a flying cockroach fell on my head. It sounds like some plastic paper with a small weight. Then you touch your head and have it trying to fly or running around your bed. Horrible things.

On topic, the novel sounds interesting, though I doubt I would be able to find a collector edition down here.

Do you think they might included the graphic novel as a PDF somewhere on the disk? For me, it is way more enjoyable to read comics in tangible form, there is something romantic about laying in bed late a night as you read as oppose to staring at a screen. However, Im waiting for a few patches to come out before buying NV which means no CE for me. Don't want to miss out.

The novel is a hardcover book.

One would guess there have been enough fallout retrospective articles already. Maybe we will now get a new one with every following Fallout game?

Yes, but they can still include it in digital format such as a PDF on the game file. That was my question, will they do it?
When you buy a CD online straight from the musician/s, you have the option of paying the minimum price for just the download or you can get more elaborate copies such as the deluxe or collector that will include some sort of extras, like a vinyl or some sort of hardcover art book, similar to the graphic novel that will come with the CE. However even if you get the download copy, the album art and anything extra publishing that they put out in tangible form will generally be on the music file since there is no extra publishing cost involved.

Geof Darrow's art is astounding, and I wish he was doing the interior art, but then again he isn't known for his punctuality.

I was going to buy the CE anyway once I heard that it came with a graphic novel and poker supplies - the fact that they got Darrow on board just makes me happier about my decision.

About 2 or 3 times lately, but it was kinda different. It was a large spider descending on its thread above me. I never find anything though. Sucks that the human mind wants to hallucinate things like that. I usually can't sleep afterwards either. :P

I didn't have the "creepy crawlies" though. I'm fairly accustomed to spiders. I catch them all the time in a jar and free them outside. I usually let centipedes go though, since they're pretty fragile (hard to catch without killing them or them losing several legs) and tend to eat anything smaller than they are, which is kinda nice if you think about it... natural pesticide.

You say that as if your additional cost doesn't cover the digital pre-order pack with the extra 3 stimpacks and 4 pointy sticks. either way it's not like you're not going to find a proliferation of scans at 00:01 or earlier from the 1337's
